About the University:
The University of Idaho (officially abbreviated UI, but commonly referred to as the U of I) is the State of Idaho's flagship and oldest public university, located in the rural city of Moscow in Latah County in the northern portion of the state. UI is the state's land-grant and primary research university and enrolls more national merit scholars than all other institutions in the state combined. The University of Idaho was the state's sole university for 71 years, until 1963, and hosts the state's only law school, established in 1909 and accredited by the ABA (American Bar Association) in 1925.
The university offers 142 degree programs, from accountancy to wildlife resources, including bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and specialists' degrees. Certificates of completion are offered in 30 areas of study.
As a rural land-grant university, UI has the largest campus in the state, located in the rolling hills of the Palouse region at an elevation of 2600 feet (792 m) above sea level. The land-grant institution for the state of Washington, WSU, is located eight miles (13 km) west in Pullman.
In addition to the main campus in Moscow, the UI has branch campuses in d’Alene, Boise, Twin Falls, and Idaho Falls. It also operates a research park in Post Falls and dozens of extension offices statewide.

Indian student testimonials which will will be useful
Megha Karki – Ph.D Chemistry
“I would have to say that the best thing about the University of Idaho is its Faculty.
I am doing my Ph.D in Chemistry and the faculty of the Chemistry department are of the highest caliber in terms of research and quality. I am really honored to be a part of the U of I family.”
Arun Prabhu George – Masters in Computer Engineering
“Joining University of Idaho was one of the best decisions that I made. When I came to the US for my Masters in Computer Engineering, I had admission to another university as well. And, I joined that university at first. I stayed in a city with people buzzing all around me, but still feeling very lonely. It was so strange for me to watch people stick to their laptops and not talk to each other. So, I decided to utilize my second admission, and transfer to the University of Idaho. I have never regretted that decision since. When I transferred to the University of Idaho, Heather Ropelato, an Advisor at the IPO, drove in a snowstorm to receive me at the airport. The Indian Students Association received me with open arms, and I have always felt at home.
Dr. Brian Johnson, the Chair of the ECE Department is always very helpful. I have always been able to get an appointment with him, no matter how busy he may be. He is the best in his field. We have one of the best Electrical Engineering programs around. All the professors are very helpful and kind. I have always had some form of employment on campus. I was able to pay off most of my living expenses. I have had a great learning experience. It has been a pleasure to be here.
The campus is absolutely beautiful to the sight. It would look like you are living in a Windows XP desktop background. You will have to be here to believe it. For now, take my word for it - University of Idaho is the place to be. Get in touch with any of us at the Indian Students Association to know more.”
