Assessments are the fulcrum of development impact bonds. Without reliable and accurate measurement of outcomes,the entire premise of pay-outs based on performance becomes questionable. DIB is pioneering a movement to increase outcome-based funding in the development sector and push the wheel of impact investing faster toward a better future. GMI takes great pride in being a part of such bold and innovative social experiments by assessing Grade 3 students of three blocks in the state of Gujarat.

On July 12th, Gray Matters India and the International Innovation Corps are hosting an event - "What Can Education Data Do for You?"

The half day event will feature a panel discussion on the current state of assessments on a systemic level followed by a workshop and series of presentations on how to effectively measure foundational skills in early-childhood to “future-readiness” in secondary education. The event will gather multiple education stakeholders, from funders to researchers to NGOs, to explore new opportunities for improving existing metrics of student learning and leveraging that data effectively for better outcomes.

Haryana claims 86% students Saksham or grade level competent - Times of India 27/06/2019

Gray Matters India has been the independent evaluator for the program since November 2017. Overall, GMI has assessed 1,09,911 students from Grade 3, 1,09,870 students from Grade 5 and 1,27,501 students from Grade 7 adding to 3,47,282 students as part of seven rounds of assessments.
