Applications for Atal Bhashantar Yojana
Applications are invited by the Ministry of External Affairs for its ‘Specialised Interpreters’ Programme under Atal Bhashantar Yojana for translation and interpretation from Hindi to Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.

One candidate each shall be selected in the above foreign languages and selected candidates will be trained in a foreign language at Government cost in reputed language schools abroad.

These candidates shall also receive a monthly stipend during their training period. After the training, they shall be engaged as ‘Specialized Interpreters’ by Ministry of External Affairs for a five-year term.

Eligibility criteria:

(i) Graduation/recognized diploma/their equivalent or higher degree in from UGC- accredited universities with NAAC categorisation of ‘A’ or higher;

(ii) Score of 60% and above in all examinations from Class X onwards; (iii) Proficiency in Hindi and English (Class XII level);
(iv) Age between 21-26 years as on 01.08.2019

Submission of applications: Applicants may fill their application forms either in Hindi or English and submit the following along with their applications:

i) Covering letter, clearly mentioning qualifications in the foreign language

ii) CV

iii)Self-attested photocopies of all academic certificates mentioned in the application form

iv) Self-attested proof of age (any two documents out of passport, driving license, PAN card, electoral identity card or any other Government issued card)

Selection process: Candidates shall be selected through a three- stage process which involves screening; written examination in the foreign language; and interview as per timelines below:

 Deadline for submission of applications – 15 January 2019
 Screening – by 25 January 2019
 Written and oral exam – 31 January & 1 February, 2019

 Interview – 25-27 February 2019
 Announcement of selected candidates – first week of March 2019

The timelines above are indicative in nature and the actual timelines might vary. Candidates shall be informed in case there any changes in the timelines above.

Highlights of the Specialised Interpreters’Programme:
 Selected candidates would be sent to Language Centres of Excellence abroad for specialized training at Government expenditure;

 In addition to monthly stipend in US Dollars, the candidates shall also have funded stay abroad, two return air passages from India, medical coverage etc during the training period;

 Opportunity to work as ‘Specialised Interpreters’ for Government of India for a period of at least 5 years on monthly salaries;

Dear Students, friends and all my well wishers, a very Happy healthy prosperous new year n happy learning....

An important post by a Student ---A few experiences and suggestions for the people who want to come to Germany for masters:
After spending first two months here, I observed some difficulties and annoying things that freshers face. So I thought let me give something useful information needed.
1. Accommodation is the first problem that people face in Germany. Apply to all the student hostels in the respective cities or places even before you apply to the university because that doesn't require an admission letter. This is because there will be a huge waiting list for the student hostels. Apply before a year on safe side. And also write mails in German to the landlords for private accommodation. Before writing mails please call to the landlord and take the appointment instead of mails. This is because very few people are good in replying and most of them rely on talks. If you are still in India don't search for a long term , instead search for a month or two for a short term one and search after entering germany. The information about this short term can be found in the respective local Indian groups in facebook and some websites like WG gesucht., etc.,
2. Book of the VISA extension slots immediately as soon as you enter germany because in some cities it may take 2-3 months to get a slot. So untill you get a residence permit with which you also get work permit you cant do Part time. So better apply as soon as you come for VISA extension.
3. Don't try to get too much clothes from India as you find them even cheaper here with good quality. So instead get some useful items which are very costly here in Germany and less available.
4.My personal opinion in opening account is first open in kotak and open here in sparkasse bank than DB as you have many benefits and more ATM machines. DB is very very very limited and many drawbacks. One DB tip is if your money is transferred to DB as it takes time to get your post with ATM and pin late upto 3-4 weeks and if you need money you can just go to any DB bank and withdraw money. Please know that you have this facility.
5.Never pay to anyone untill you sign the contract in any field maybe internet, house, etc. If you dont know something please contact with your seniors there. Though they give late replies please wait because people here will be busy by default.
6.Regarding German it is very important. it would be really helpful for you if atleast you could go for some training just to be familiar and later you can learn in full pace here than being annoyed here as it is everything german here and even in all shops and stores. So start learning German to extent possible.
7. Please be in contact with seniors untill you are familiar about things and don't hesistate to contact one because all have to pass through the same phase.
