Learning Beyond the Classroom!

At IRIS Early Years, even our celebrations are opportunities to learn.

This Independence Day, we went beyond simply introducing children to the colours of our national flag. Through sensory experiences, hands-on activities and simple STEM explorations, children experienced colours, textures, light and materials in meaningful ways.

Because we believe learning should not pause for celebrations—it should come alive through them.

When children explore, question and create, every celebration becomes a learning experience they remember.

From Ground to Frame

Learning is so much more meaningful when children can see it, touch it and experience it.

Our Level 4 children took their learning outdoors, collecting leaves and flowers they had studied and then using them to create beautiful frames of their own.

This simple activity brought together experiential learning, Reggio Emilia-inspired practices and hands-on exploration, giving children the opportunity to observe, make choices, create and learn through their own experiences.

At IRIS Early Years, we are committed to using meaningful and effective teaching approaches that make learning joyful, hands-on and connected to the real world.

Because when children experience learning, they remember it.

Little Scientists, Big Wonder! 🕯️✨

There’s something magical about watching children discover how the world works!

During our morning assembly, our little ones watched a simple candle experiment that helped them understand how oxygen is essential for burning and breathing. As the flame flickered and went out under the glass, the room filled with curious eyes, excited whispers and plenty of wonder! 🌬️💛

At IRIS Early Years, we love turning everyday moments into opportunities to wonder, explore, question and learn—because when children experience learning, it stays with them. 🌱

✨ Lights, Shadows & Endless Wonder! 🌟

Our little learners stepped into a magical world of shadow puppets, where the story of Three Billy Goats Gruff came alive through light and imagination. As they laughed, guessed, and created their own shadow characters, they discovered that every shadow has a story to tell.

Through this playful experience, children explored how light creates shadows, noticed how shadows change with distance and direction, and strengthened their observation, reasoning, and creative thinking—all while having an unforgettable time!
