✨ Future Doctors in the Making! 🩺🔬
The School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) hosted an inspiring educational field trip for 70 aspiring NEET students from Accomplish Academy, Shamshabad, Hyderabad on 29th October 2025. This visit was coordinated by Smt. Leena Bashyam, Scientific Officer.
The session began with an insightful introduction by Smt. Monica Kannan, Scientific Officer, who highlighted the School’s state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation facilities and how they foster research excellence and scientific curiosity. She also emphasized the “bench-to-bedside” approach—translating lab-based discoveries into real healthcare solutions that benefit patients.
🧬 Following the session, students explored cutting-edge research facilities in Genomics, Proteomics, and Microscopy, gaining a firsthand look at the exciting world of molecular biology.
The young aspiring doctors enthusiastically interacted with researchers and faculty, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity. This enriching experience has strengthened their vision of becoming dedicated clinicians in the future 🌟

Three students from the Department of Animal Biology, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, were presented with the best poster awards at the Drug Discovery & Development Workshop 2025, held at the School of Life Sciences from August 28 to 31, 2025, and conducted by the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA)!

The School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, is organizing a talk on the ‘Springer Nature – Medicine & Life Sciences Book Program’ on May 1, 2024 (Wednesday), at 11.00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall of SLS.
The speakers, Dr. Sanchi Bhimrajka and Dr. Naren Aggarwal are editors at Springer Nature, working in the team managing the life science books. They lead an extensive, high-quality book program across Asia and are working towards expanding it with esteemed Indian Institutes. Their talk aims to discuss Springer Nature's life science book program and the academic publishing opportunities Springer Nature provides. The speakers will also interact with the faculty members about their book ideas (in their respective fields of expertise) and invite proposals from them.

The School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, University of Hyderabad is happy to organize a one-day lecture workshop for research scholars on ‘Safety & Ethics Essentials for the Research Beginners’ ( ) on March 12, 2024 (Tuesday).
SEERB aims at imparting knowledge on biohazardous waste management, chemical hazardous waste management, radioactive waste management, and biosafety. The program will familiarize the students with the guidelines of IEC, IBSC, etc., and educate them on animal ethics, ethics of human health, and biomedical research. Experts in different domains of safety and ethics within and outside the University will be the resource persons.
