We spend the first half of our careers chasing success. Better roles, bigger responsibilities, greater recognition and more influence. And then, somewhere along the way, something changes. The question is no longer simply, “How far can I go?” It becomes, “What difference will my journey make?”

That shift, from Success to Significance, is the subject of our next WiseViews conversation.

We have invited Mr Richard Rekhy to help us explore it. With more than four decades in professional services, Mr Richard has travelled an extraordinary distance in his career. He became a partner at 28, went on to become CEO of KPMG India, served on the KPMG International Board, and is today Vice-Chair of Grant Thornton Bharat. His journey has also taken him into boardrooms, entrepreneurship, mentoring, education and social impact.

For this conversation, we are less interested in the positions he has held and more interested in what those experiences have taught him.

ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad, successfully concluded the Two-Day International Colloquium on “Oceans, Accountability and Global Governance: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on the Law of the Sea”, held on 18–19 August 2026.

The colloquium brought together distinguished academicians, legal experts, practitioners and researchers to engage in meaningful discussions on contemporary issues concerning the Law of the Sea, maritime security, ocean governance, environmental law, deep-sea mining, the Blue Economy, and international dispute settlement under UNCLOS.

The event featured insightful expert lectures, panel discussions, interactive sessions and group discussions with participation from eminent experts from India and abroad. The inaugural session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, along with distinguished academic and professional leaders.

The valedictory ceremony marked the successful culmination of two days of enriching academic dialogue. We sincerely acknowledge the valuable contributions of all the resource persons, panelists, chairs, co-chairs, participants and organizing team members who made the colloquium a meaningful academic platform.

Special appreciation to Dr. Sayan Das, Coordinator, Centre for Legal Research and Policy Studies (CLRPS), ICFAI Law School, for his contribution and coordination, including the preparation of the colloquium report.

The colloquium reflects ICFAI Law School’s continued commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research, global academic collaboration and meaningful dialogue on emerging issues in law and governance.

When was the last time you played a game that didn’t need a screen?

No Wi-Fi. No app. No battery. No tutorial. Just a few stones, seeds, shells, a board, and people.
And yet, many of those games quietly taught strategy, patience, mathematics, negotiation, concentration, collaboration… and perhaps even how to lose gracefully.

This Friday, at our , we explore a surprisingly contemporary question: RELEVANCE OF TRADITIONAL GAMES IN THE 21st CENTURY
Our guest is Ms. Vinita Sidhartha, Founder & CEO of Kreeda, who has spent more than two decades researching, reviving and reimagining India's traditional games.

Her journey began when she watched her grandmother teach traditional games to her children, creating an unlikely 80-year bridge between generations.

What began as a family experience became Kreeda in 2002. Today, her work extends from schools and mathematics workshops to corporate programmes, management training and the documentation of ancient game boards carved into temple floors.

And there is an interesting backdrop to this conversation. Children today spend an average of 2.6 hours a day on screens, according to a 2025 study published in Indian Pediatrics. Outdoor activity averaged just 1.1 hours on weekdays. Meanwhile, ASER 2024 found that among adolescents aged 14–16 who could use smartphones, 76% had used them for social media, compared with 57% for education.

Perhaps the question is not whether traditional games can compete with technology. We should ask what they gave us that technology cannot.

𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 | 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲

The Legal Aid Society, ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad, organized an impactful street play titled “Know Your Voice, Know Your Rights” at Kollur Village, Ramachandra Puram Mandal, Sangareddy District, Telangana, on 15 August 2026, as part of the celebrations marking the 80th Independence Day of India.

With nearly 300 participants, including the village leader, local residents, and students, faculty and staff of ZPHS School, the programme focused on promoting legal literacy, responsible citizenship, and awareness of fundamental rights among rural communities.

Professor Narayanarao Battu highlighted the significance of Article 19(1)(a) and the fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression. The session emphasized that questioning authorities responsibly is not disrespect, but an essential part of a healthy democracy and an important means of promoting accountability.

A meaningful poster presentation by Ms. Soumya and Ms. Thanu Sri further explained the importance of questioning, the Right to Information Act, 2005, transparency, accountability, and the role of informed citizens in combating corruption.

The highlight of the programme was the engaging street play led by Ms. Suryanjali and Ms. Himaja, along with Ms. Vaishali, Ms. Anvesha Singh, Ms. Supriya, Ms. Srividya, Ms. Purvi, Ms. Siri Dorothy, Ms. Kundhana, Ms. Shreya, Ms. Preethi, Ms. Zubeda, and Ms. Tanmayi.

Under the powerful theme “Freedom to Speak and Responsibility to Respect,” the performance used humour and relatable situations to address contemporary issues such as fake news, social media, trolling, gossip, political questioning, criticism, and online personal attacks. The play conveyed an important message: freedom of expression must always be accompanied by responsibility, respect, and verification of information.

The programme concluded with the resonant message:

“Freedom to Speak, Responsibility to Respect.”

We sincerely appreciate the support of the Headmaster of ZPHS School, the village leader, and Ambedkar Youth Seva Sangh for facilitating the programme. Special appreciation to Ms. Sri Vaishanvai Reddy for the vote of thanks, Ms. Moksha for anchoring the programme, and Mr. Madhav and Ms. Hridaya for documenting the event through photographs and videos.

The programme was funded by the IFHE Management as part of its commitment to promoting legal literacy and community engagement in Telangana, and was organized under the leadership of Dr. S. Kannan, Coordinator, Legal Aid Society, along with the members of the Legal Aid Society.

At ICFAI Law School, IFHE, we believe that legal education becomes truly meaningful when it reaches communities and empowers citizens to understand, exercise, and responsibly uphold their rights.

ICFAI Law School Faculty Member Delivers Keynote Lecture on Foreign Education

We are pleased to share that Mr. Raviendranath, Assistant Professor, ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad, was invited as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at Transpacific Immigration Services & Abroad Educational Services on 15 August 2026.

The session focused on “Myths and Facts, Opportunities and Challenges of Foreign Education”, providing valuable insights into the realities of pursuing higher education abroad. The lecture addressed common misconceptions, emerging opportunities, key challenges, and important considerations for students aspiring to study internationally.

His insightful interaction with students and participants highlighted the importance of making informed, responsible and well-researched decisions when planning overseas education.
