Join us for GeoApps 2024 @ JNTUH

In the recent past, natural calamities such as flooding,
earthquake-induced landslides, and liquefaction of soil
were observed in several regions in India. To sustain
these hazards, expert researchers and industry experts
constantly place their good efforts into developing various
viable technical solutions to protect the infrastructure solutions to protect the infrastructurel solutions to protect the infrastructure solutions to protect the infrastructures
found on the ground. Not only natural hazards, but
sometimes untreated problematic soils such as expansive
soils and reclaimed soils will cause enormous damage to
the infrastructure in terms of excessive and differential
settlement, and also stability-related problems.
Everywhere on the earth massive infrastructure
development in terms of major irrigation, housing,
Highways, PMGSY, Modern Airports, High-Speed rail
Corridors, Power Projects, etc has gained momentum.
Civil engineering structures such as dams, railways,
highways, bridges, mass transit systems, seaports,
airports and tall structures aid in improving the living
standards of the ever-increasing global population.
The design and construction of these structures pose
challenges to Civil Engineers in terms of complex ground
conditions, difficult foundation sites, deep excavations,
cost-effective solutions, etc. Significant progress has been
achieved in several fields of geotechnical engineering.
The ground can be engineered to suit a variety of difficult and
complex environmental loading conditions.
The workshop on GeoApps 2024 aims to provide a forum
for the exchange of technical information among
academicians, practitioners, and young engineers. The
workshop consists of 8 invited lectures from academics
and practitioners followed by presentations of research
scholars from JNTUH, IITH, NITW, VNR, Mahindra
University, etc. The discussions mainly focus on ongoing
research and industrial aspects in Geotechnical
engineering.
