We are working towards developing a shared 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲-𝗨𝗽 ecosystem supported by infrastructure, technical expertise, and collaborative industry engagement.

Our colleague participated in the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 organised by 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 at CSIR-Innovation Complex Mumbai.

The event opened with an insightful presentation by Prof. Rohan Shirwaiker, Director of the Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein at NC State, highlighting global efforts in sustainable protein innovation, biomanufacturing, and workforce development.

The discussions highlighted the importance of collaborative ecosystems, shared pilot-scale infrastructure, indigenous biomanufacturing capabilities, and stronger public–private partnerships to accelerate India’s cultivated meat and smart protein sector.

Located in Bengaluru, IKP Knowledge Park’s 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 looks forward to contributing to this growing ecosystem through translational research support, innovation infrastructure, startup engagement, and industry collaboration.

It was encouraging to see strong alignment across startups, academia, industry, and policy stakeholders toward building a resilient and globally competitive protein innovation ecosystem for India.

Satya Prakash Dash recently had introductory meetings with 𝗗𝗿. 𝗞. 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝘂, 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 & 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻, SAI LIFE SCIENCES , and Krishna Kanumuri, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 & 𝗖𝗘𝗢, to discuss the evolving direction of the biotechnology and healthcare industry in India and globally.

The conversations focused on emerging frontiers in biotechnology, the growing importance of innovation-led ecosystems, and the need to strengthen India’s capabilities across translational research, biomanufacturing, product development, and global competitiveness.

The discussions also explored how industry, research institutions, startups, and ecosystem enablers can work together to prepare India for the next wave of opportunities in healthcare and life sciences.

We remain committed to fostering such meaningful engagements that bring together leaders across the ecosystem to accelerate science, innovation, and impact.

The 𝗜𝗞𝗣 𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 brought together around 48 founders, researchers, and deep-science innovators for an engaging discussion on building scalable science-led ventures.

The session explored a core challenge facing India’s innovation ecosystem today: not the lack of science, but the gap in translating breakthrough research into real companies.

Participants got a closer look at how 𝗜𝗞𝗣 𝗔𝗥𝗞 is designed to bridge this gap—supporting founders across productization, regulatory pathways, manufacturing readiness, commercialization, and fundraising.

Satya Prakash Dash, Sridhar Ramanathan, Karthik Venkataraman, Padmaja Konisetti, and Aaqib Jameel shared insights on what it truly takes to build and scale deep-science ventures, followed by an interactive Q&A with participants from across the MedTech and HealthTech ecosystem.

The strong participation and candid conversations reinforced the growing need for focused, execution-driven support systems for deep-science startups in India.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the 𝗜𝗞𝗣–𝗖𝗳𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟳 — a collaborative initiative between IKP Knowledge Park and the Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship IIT Hyderabad.

The fellowship is designed to strengthen India’s healthcare innovation ecosystem by enabling:

🔹 Translation of ideas into scalable healthcare startups

This program brings together medicine, engineering, and entrepreneurship to nurture the next generation of healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs.
