In Solidarity with HCU Student Leaders

The nationwide state-sponsored witch hunt against Anti CAA-NRC protestors reached Telangana with the Police charging cases against 14 student leaders of Hyderabad Central University (HCU), which includes Sourab Kumar (AISA), Ashique Rasool (MSF), Hadif (Jammu and Kashmir Students Association), Thahir Jamal (SiO), Manikanta (BSF), Amol Jose (NSUI)
Akash Rathore (NSUI), Sneha Gorge(NSUI), Basker Sarkar (AISA), Ananthu Rajagopal, Mansi Chowdary, Jiyad Hussain (Fraternity), Akram (SiO), and Sonal (AISA) who took part in a protest rally to MAANU, Hyderabad held last winter.

EFLU Students Union condemns the police action and urges to immediately revoke all charges against the student leaders.

Voice of dissent can never be suppressed.

Statement by the Students' Council (2019-2020), EFLU - Hyderabad.

This is the fifth and the final session of this year's ensemble: discussions and beyond organised by the ensemble committee, powered by the Students' Union, EFL University - Hyderabad.

The final session will try to highlight the importance of recognizing the various populations represented under the umbrella term of LGBTQIA+. Although a sizeable amount of knowledge on LGBTQIA+ issues has been developed over the last decade, much remains to be explored.

Resources Persons:

Dr. Kaustav Bakshi is an activist. Also, he is Assistant Professor, Department of English, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He worked as Charles Wallace India Trust Fellow, member of the editorial advisory board of Q***r Studies in Media and Popular Culture (Intellect Bks.), and an occasional contributor to InPlainspeak, the digital magazine of TARSHI (Talking About Reproductive and Sexuality Health in India).

Dr. Paromita Chakravarti is Professor, Department of English, and has been the Director of the School of Women's Studies, Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Oxford. Her book Women Contesting Culture was published in 2012.

Hello all,
