It has been the desire of the respected colleagues, research scholars and students of the Department to start a literary and intellectual forum named, Azad Discourse Forum, which will be EXCLUSIVELY meant for discussing issues pertaining to Urdu Language, Literature, Culture, humanities, and field of their specializations. The Forum will work on co-operative and inclusive principle based on four ‘Gricean maxims’, i.e. i- The quantity maxim: make your contribution as informative as is required but not more or less than is required. ii- The quality maxim: Do not say that which you believe to be false or for which you lack adequate evidence. iii- The relation maxim: Be relevant. iv- The manner maxim: Be clear, brief and orderly. Moreover, the forum, in question, will give us an academic opportunity to share our ideas, to make our power-point presentations and to discuss topics belonging to various disciplines of knowledge. It would act as a catalyst to broaden the knowledge base of respected colleagues, researchers and students. Consequently, it will help us to:

1. Make room for fraternity and establishing healthy teacher-taught relations and understanding new issues that are cropping up every day in academia and society at large;
2. Keep ourselves abreast with the latest trends in research;
3. Pave way for creativity, and
4. Create an academic ambience for innovation.
5. Make stakeholders engaged, organized, disciplined and focused.

3-Norms to be followed:
i- It will be purely and exclusively literary and cultural,
ii- A programme will be organized at least once in a month from different categories of academico-cultural activities,
iii- It will be organized in consultation with the HoD,
iv- It will be organized on the principle of minimum money and maximum academics,
v- It will be organized on the principle that The Institution, The Department and The Forum are more important than the responsible office bearers, members and other related individuals. vi- The President and two Assistant Presidents of the Forum will be from Ph.D. programme,
vii- The Vice President and two Assistant Vice Presidents of the Forum will be from M. programme,
viii- The Secretary and two Assistant Secretaries of the Forum will be from M.A. final year,
ix- The Joint Secretary and two Assistant Joint Secretaries of the Forum will be from M.A. previous year,
x- The Treasurer and two Assistant Treasurers of the Forum will be from Ph.D., M. Phil and M.A. final year respectively,
xi- The tenure of performance will be only for a year time from first week of December to first week of next December only. xii- If any vacancy arises during the tenure, it will be taken over by the second in place. xiii- The Forum will always work as collegiums for achieving the objectives mentioned above. xiv- The Forum membership fee will be Rs. 100-/ annually. xv- The members of the forum will be the Urdu students of B.A., M.A. and research scholars of M. Phil & Ph.D. xvi- Academically and financially, the Forum will work on voluntary basis. xvii- The collegiums will present its annual performance report at the end of its tenure in a relatively bigger programme, wherein token of prizes may be distributed.
