Vibe Tribe – Like Attracts Like.

One of the profound spiritual concepts says that we naturally attract, or feel attracted towards, people and situations that resonate with our own energy or vibration.

For the human mind, it can often feel difficult to understand how such a phenomenon actually works.

An excerpt from The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak beautifully helps us understand this mystery.

It was the time when Rumi was renowned as a scholar and Mevlana in Konya, and people attended his sermons at the mosque almost like a ritual.

On one such day, Rumi was preparing to begin his discourse, and the mosque was already overflowing with people.

Hasan the Beggar decided to see for himself how Rumi spoke and somehow managed to find a place to sit among the crowd.

At the same time, Desert Rose the Harlot quietly slipped out of the brothel where she lived. Disguising herself as a man so she could enter the mosque, she came hoping to listen to Rumi. But the place was already packed, and she could not find a seat. So she stood silently in a corner to hear him speak.

Rumi began speaking about suffering in human life and how one should accept suffering as a blessing in disguise from the Divine. That was the essence of his sermon that day.

Hasan the Beggar felt irritated and disgusted. Within himself he thought, “How can Rumi speak about accepting suffering? What does he know about pain? He was born into an influential family and never lacked anything in life. It is easy for him to preach acceptance.”

Hasan continued complaining inwardly, saying that only he truly understood suffering — someone who had to beg every single day just to arrange two meals.

Consumed by resentment towards his circumstances, Hasan decided to leave the sermon and walk out of the mosque immediately.

The moment Hasan vacated his place, Desert Rose attentively moved forward and occupied the very same seat.

Now fully immersed in Rumi’s words, Desert Rose reflected upon the immense suffering she had endured since childhood — the series of painful events that eventually led her into a brothel. Yet, in that very moment, she could see the hidden grace behind it all: had those events not happened, she would never have reached Konya, and she would never have received the fortune of listening to Rumi that day. Suddenly, she could perceive that her suffering too had been a blessing in disguise.

If we reflect carefully, Desert Rose had endured far greater suffering than Hasan the Beggar ever had. Yet she was receptive to Rumi’s words, while Hasan was not.

And so, Hasan left the seat he had received, and Desert Rose naturally occupied the same space.

This is how life works. We attract our own tribe. Like attracts like.

Those who are not receptive towards us — and towards whom we are not receptive — gradually leave our lives. And those who resonate with our energy naturally enter and fill those spaces.

Gratitude!!!!

Interpretation of the Fifteenth Rule of Love

Rule Number 15 — God is busy with the completion of your work, both outwardly and inwardly. He is fully occupied with you. Every human being is a work in progress that is slowly but inexorably moving toward perfection. We are each an unfinished work of art both waiting and striving to be completed. God deals with each of us separately because humanity is fine art of skilled penmanship where every single dot is equally important for the entire picture.

– Shams, to Peasant

Context - This rule arises when the Peasant who dropped Shams at the gates of the city of Konya is astonished by Shams’ politeness, as he had never been treated with such kindness before. At this moment, Shams shares this rule with him, conveying that everything and every being has its own important place in existence.

Interpretation within the Story - It appears that the Peasant had lived an underprivileged life and, as a result, had rarely experienced respect from the higher sections of society. When Shams suddenly treats him with kindness and politeness, he becomes confused and begins to doubt whether Shams is genuinely kind or mocking him. This reflects how the Peasant had reached a state where he believed that no one could treat him well, or that he did not deserve love, respect, or kindness.

Through this rule, Shams helps the Peasant understand that every individual is equally important for the proper functioning of existence. Each person is at a different level of evolution and contributes according to that level to the harmony of the whole.

At the same time, the Divine is constantly working to help us evolve through the various situations we encounter in life. Every life situation is an opportunity for growth. This evolution is both external and internal, although this distinction itself exists only in our perception. From the perspective of existence, everything is one. This means that the Divine supports our growth both materially and spiritually through the situations we face. These situations are instruments created by the Divine. Any internal transformation is reflected externally, and vice versa.

As Osho says, “no one is inferior, no one is superior, and no one is equal either. People are simply unique.”

We are all making our own unique contributions to the harmonious functioning of existence.

Deeper Interpretation Beyond the Story - One of Osho’s quotations says, “Life is perfect. It is not moving from imperfection to perfection. It is moving from perfection to perfection.”

This statement can be difficult to grasp because we tend to define perfection based on personal conditions. We often believe that certain events, people, or possessions must be present in our lives for them to be considered perfect.

However, Osho does not impose any such criteria. According to him, life as it is, is already perfect, because no other possibility exists. If the Divine has created life and we consider the Divine to be perfect, then life itself cannot be imperfect.

He also suggests that what we perceive as imperfection is, in fact, perfectly placed within existence. It may appear imperfect only because of our limited perspective, but from the standpoint of existence, everything is exactly as it should be, playing its role and contributing to situations that support our evolution.

If we are willing to learn and grow, even the most difficult events, such as wars, can offer profound lessons, such as the realization that humanity must be cautious in how much power it places in the hands of political leaders.

Thus, every person, and even every living or non-living entity, has a role to play in existence, and nothing can be considered insignificant.

One way to understand this is to see existence as a vast, intricate machine, where all of us are its components. No part is too important or too insignificant. Each plays its role in maintaining the functioning of the whole. Even the smallest screw, if it comes loose, can bring the entire system to a halt.

This rule ultimately reminds us that everyone and everything holds equal importance in sustaining existence and supporting our individual and collective evolution.

Planets as Individuals

This is one concept I have been working on regularly in my study and consultations from a very long time but somehow I have missed writing about it. It is the simplest way of understanding how planets behave and give results. It is the concept of considering Planets as Persons/Individuals.

If we look closely then we will find that all the terminology we use in Astrology is part and parcel of our daily life. There can be some changes in the words used but overall reference of words is same as we use in daily life. Like House, Sitting, Sitting Together, Aspecting (Looking), Transitting (Moving), Friends, Enemies etc. It is very clear that this terminology is that we use daily.

So, what if we start considering planets as persons? Will it make our life easy in understanding Astrology? Let's look at these examples -

Lordship/House Ownership - This is one concept which is hard to understand. How planets can have ownership over some sign? Well, just like the way we assert our ownership at things. Actually, our ownership is very limited over things, lands or homes but planets ownership over signs is forever. If we see closely, every planet owns signs as per its own nature. Like, Mars is about Action and it rules an action oriented sign Aries. Jupiter is Religion & Spirituality and it rules over Sagittarius & Pisces which has same portfolios. This is also like people where we want to own a thing or place which suits our desires or liking.

Planet sitting in another sign/house - Second thing that is difficult to understand is how a planet, which is sitting in some other sign/house, brings the energy of sign/house it rules/owns? Well, the same way as if I own a house at my home town and if I go anywhere in the world, I will be tied with my home town because of that home. May be I will also receive benefits from that house as rent etc. So, I am carrying the energy of my house wherever I go because I own it. Same way, a planet will carry the energy of sign it rules to the house where it sits.

Conjunction Vs Aspects - Then there is a question as to why Conjunction of planets has more importance than planets aspecting each other. Well, suppose you are sitting with your friend or family person and at the same time, another friend or family person is looking (aspecting) at you from far. Who will have more impact on you? Naturally, you will be more engaged with person sitting next to you than the person looking at you. For some time, you may not even be aware that someone is looking at you. Likewise, planets sitting together in Conjunction will have more impact than planets aspecting. I don't mean to say that aspects are useless.

Friends/Enemies - No need to explain this. Just like we have friends and enemies, planets also consider each other in these groups as per their nature. Whoever doesn't fit to our nature, habits and values, we don't like company or association of those people and if that happens, we feel irritated. Just like that when a planet is conjunct or aspected by another planet of different nature, both planets feel irritated and can't focus on giving good results of the house they are in. Likewise, if a planet is in sign of an enemy planet, it won't be able to function well, just like the way we won't be able to work well if we are surrounded by enemy. Things change naturally if friendly planets are involved, just like the way we will react to company of our friends.

Transit of Planets - Now, why annual transit of planets over each other and over planets of birth chart is considered so important for bringing the events? Well, just suppose that you are walking over a path. Then one person passes-by you from almost touching distance. What will happen? You will take evasive action to safeguard yourself. So, an event happened as per the action taken. Likewise, planets transiting over each other and over planets of birth chart, create a friction between the planets or I should say energy exchange which produces the event.

Retrograde Planets - Why Retrograde Planets are considered more effective and bring more intense results? What is retrograde planet? It is a planet which is nearest to Earth at the time of birth and thereafter every year during annual transits. Now, suppose someone is standing right next to you, face to face. What will happen? Out of all the people in the room, you will be most impacted by that person who is standing right in front of you. Likewise, Retrograde Planets work. Their impact is most as they are nearest to Earth.

Combust Planets - Last but not the least. Why Combust Planets lose their strength? What is Combustion? It is when a planet comes too close to Sun, it starts feeling heat of Sun and can't function properly. What is Sun? It is Authority. Now, suppose you are standing next to an Authority Figure at Office or Home or even some Minister or person in High Authority. Unless that person is really close, at personal/friendship level, to you, you will feel intimidated for some time. Once you are known to that authority, you will start behaving normally. Likewise, every planet feels heat as it is closer to Sun, except Mercury as it is always "Close" with Sun and hence used to its heat. Other planets will get used to Sun's heat over few years and start behaving normally as per their nature.

Like this we can understand Astrology much better if we can just relate with planets as individuals.

Role of Aatma Karaka and Amatya Karaka

Let's see the importance of Aatma Karaka and Amatya Karaka in knowing the right path of Career as it has also been a request. These two planets hold key in matters of right career in 90% cases as per my experience. So, let's understand these two planets and their impact on Career on the basis of following points -

Jaimini Astrology - Basically, it is a concept of Jaimini Astrology where Sage Jaimini gave karakas to planets based on their degrees. He left-out shadow planets Rahu & Ketu from this scheme of Karakas. Karakas were decided based on their degrees in chart, like the planet with highest degree is named Aatma Karaka, and then going into descending order Amatya Karaka, Bhratru Karaka, Matru Karaka, Putra Karaka, Ghatni Karaka and Dara Karaka. Jagannath Hora Software considers Rahu as one of the karaka and also adds one more karaka as Pitru Karaka, i.e. between Matru & Putra Karakas. I don't know how applicable is it because I never saw Rahu & Pitru Karaka being used anywhere else. But anyways, our focus right now is on Aatma Karaka and Amatya Karaka.

Aatma Karaka - As I said, Aatma Karaka is the planet with the Highest Degree in our chart. It means this planet is Soul Significator. For proper understanding, this planet indicates your aim/purpose/destination of life. We are supposed to reach the place which is indicated by Aatma Karaka Planet, its position and house it rules. This will give us an idea of where we need to reach in this life.

Amatya Karaka - Now, as we know destination to reach through Atma Karaka, we should also know how to reach there? So, planet with 2nd highest degree becomes Amatya Karaka. It is a ride up to the destination. Things related with Amatya Karaka planet, its position and its rulership of houses will indicate about what actions a person should take to reach his destination, i.e. Aatma Karaka.

How to find Career through Aatma Karaka & Amatya Karaka? - So, now how to use AAtma Karaka & Amatya Karaka to find right Career Path? For this, we have two ways -

Karakamsha Lagna - It is most commonly used technique. So, see the sign position of Aatma Karaka in D-9. Make that sign as Ascendant in D-1. Then see, which house Amatya Karaka is placed from this sign as Ascendant? For ex, suppose someone is Sagittarius Ascendant is D-1 with Sun and Mercury being planets of 2 highest degrees. So, they become Aatma Karaka & Amatya Karaka respectively. Now, see in which sign Sun is placed in D-9? Suppose Sun is in Cancer. Make Cancer as your Ascendant in D-1, which will be known as Karakamsha Lagna, and then see where is Amatya Karaka-Mercury is placed from Cancer as Ascendant. The house, where Mercury goes from Cancer as Ascendant, will give an indication about the kind of work person should do. Like if Amatya Karaka - Mercury is in 7th house then Business; 5th house then Teaching or working through his hobbies; 4th house then home based Business.
2nd way is my way only. Hence, no name as yet. As I remain a "devotee" of D-1 chart, I will look at the house which Atma Karaka rules and sits in D-1. It will give me an indication about what person should achieve in life. Then I will look at the houses Amatya Karaka rules and sits. It will give an indication about what person needs to do. Like in above example of Sagittarius Ascendant, Aatma Karaka-Sun rules 9th house with Leo sign then it sits in 11th house in Libra. It indicates that person needs to use his higher education to help/serve all through a large institute. Now, if Amatya Karaka Mercury is in 8th house after ruling 7th house and 10th house, then it shows that his interaction with other people through his career of research oriented activities will help him to reach the destination which Sun is promising.
I know it is a bit confusing in 1st go but practice makes a man perfect. For me,it is simple. We just need to see the house planet rules and house it sits in. Then interpret it. Also use conjunctions with Aatma Karaka and Amatya Karaka to pin point the field or career.

Dashas - We always say that Dashas indicate the way our lives unfold. Now, it is strange that dashas always support the Atma Karaka or Amatya Karaka. In some charts early in life and in some charts with delay. But this only means that Universe gives a chance to everyone to fulfill his destiny, sooner or later.

Concept of Cancellation

From times immemorial, we are listening to many traditional Astrologers talking about this Planet is cancelling the effect of that planet and that planet is overpowering this planet. This leads to great confusions in interpretation and understanding of charts, especially if these concepts are given to you from initial days. Then it is hard to get over these concepts and lay down new ones. So, let's understand this tricky topic today as per following points -

Traditional Concept - Traditional concept says that if someone has a bad planetary position but a good planetary position in same chart is somehow attached to bad one, then the effects of bad one are nullified or cancelled and it becomes all good. Like, if someone has Mars debilitated in Cancer but that Mars is conjunct or aspected by a planet in a benefic way then that Mars is no more debilitated and that Mars is all good. It can bring best results. The effects of debilitation of Mars are cancelled or nullified due to that benefic planetary position.

Everything is in Addition - But Astrology is all inclusive. Everything is in addition, nothing cancels anything. Everything gets added up. So, if there is a planet in some good/bad position in your chart anywhere then it is for a reason. Saying that it is cancelled or nullified due to another planet is complete ignorance. Every planet, nakshatra, house, sign, pada, degree in our chart is there for a meaning and it will serve that meaning anyhow and at anytime. Best example to understand this is suppose you made a cup of Tea. You put some Sugar in it and then by mistake you put some salt in it. Now, tea will have essence of Sugar and Salt both. Sugar wont cancel Salt and Salt wont cancel Sugar's effect. If you go in Lab and test it, you will find particles of Sugar and Salt both. Likewise, every planet will have its impact during its dashas. Every planet will become active as per dasha & important transits during your life and will give results. So, nothing is getting cancelled or nullified here. Treating a planet as cancelled means treating it as dead, which can't be possible.

Yogas - Concept of Cancellation is most misused through Yogas. Some most common misuses are here -
Mangalik Dosha - Mangalik Dosha happens when Mars is in 1st house, 2nd house (as per South Indian Astrologers), 4th house, 7th house, 8th house or 12th house of a chart. It is said that in such a condition person should marry another person who has this mangalik dosha. But then new concepts were developed, to escape mangalik effect, that if Mars is in good dignity (in own, exalted or friendly signs) in these houses then Mangalik Dosha is cancelled and such a person can marry a non-mangalik too. Well, 1st of all, if it is really cancelled then he should only marry a non-mangalik and not a mangalik because he is no more a mangalik. Then even if Mars is exalted in 7th house or 8th house, I would consider that person as still a mangalik and advise him to marry another mangalik. Only time I can leave this condition when both persons aspirant of marriage have completed Mars's maturity age of 31 years AND for both of them Mars MD is not nearby. Because even if Mars is exalted in 7th house, person still have that Mars basic malefic nature towards 7th house of marriage/spouse and not to forget that any malefic planet impacts Jeeva Karaka 1st. So, marriage will be impacted by Mars malefic nature, i.e. Anger and Aggression. But again, everything in addition. So, exalted Mars will also show its good impact and will try to safe guard marriage.
Neech Bhang Raaj Yoga - Another yoga in which concept of Cancellation is misused is Neech Bhang Raaj Yoga. If a debilitated planet gets support of an exalted or own sign planet they say debilitated planet regains its strength and debilitation is cancelled, Nothing gets cancelled. This yoga will help in professional life but not in personal life. So, if someone has Mars in Cancer (debilitated) but Cancer's lord Moon is exalted in Ta**us then it is creating a good NBRY. But it will only help person in professional life. In personal life, things related to Mars (Brother, Male Friends, Boyfriend, Real Estate etc.) will still give negative results in its dasha or till the age of 31 years.
Parivartan Yoga - So, they say that when two planets exchange each other signs, then it creates Parivartan Yoga and both planets behave like friends even if they are enemies. They say that enmity gets cancelled. Nothing gets cancelled. All it does is that both planets start co-operating on those things which they share but they remain enemies for those things which they don't share. So, if Saturn is in Leo and Sun is in Capricorn then it is parivartan yoga between 2 greatest enemies. So, this doesn't mean that Saturn & Sun will become best ever friends but all it will do is that they will co-operate on things they share like Law, Govt and Authority, i.e. person will be very law abiding and disciplined, but Saturn & Sun are still greatest of enemies when it comes to relation between Father and Son. So, it will still give some stress between Father and Son.
Hope this is clear from above example that there is nothing like total cancellation of anything in your chart.

Conclusion - So, this is the way this concept works. There is nothing like total cancellation of anything in your chart. Again, always remember in Astrology, "Everything is in Addition. Nothing Cancels Anything".

Gratitude!!!

Upapada Lagna

To calculate Upapada Lagna, we consider the 12th house and 12th lord position. Now, what 12th house has to do with Marriage? 12th house is house of isolation. So, in a way, it is a house of living a single life. 7th house is the main house of marriage and spouse. Now, 12th house is 6th from 7th house. 6th house is of Obstacles. So, looking at 12th house or its lord, we can know when obstacles will be removed in your life and you may come to married life from single life.

So, rule to calculate Upapada Lagna is that you need to 1st see the sign in 12th house of your birth chart. Then see where 12th house lord is placed in birth chart. Count the houses in between and then count the same number of houses again from position of 12th house lord to find the Upapada Lagna. Now, make this Upapada Lagna house as Ascendant and it can give you some info about your to be spouse. Let's see through examples -
Ex 1 - Suppose someone is Pisces Ascendant. 12th house will have Aquarius sign there. Aquarius lord is Saturn. Suppose Saturn is in Gemini in 4th house. Now, count how many houses it is away from 12th house? 5 houses. Now, calculate 5 houses from Saturn in Gemini in 4th house. You will reach 8th house and Libra Sign. Libra becomes your Upapada Lagna. Make Libra as Ascendant and see the whole chart from there and read it as if it is chart of your spouse. It will give some idea about him/her.
Ex 2 - Suppose someone is Libra Ascendant. 12th house will have Virgo sign there. Virgo lord is Mercury. Suppose Mercury is in Ta**us in 8th house. Now, count how many houses it is away from 12th house? 9 houses. Now, calculate 9 houses from Mercury in Ta**us in 8th house. You will reach 4th house and Capricorn Sign. Capricorn becomes your Upapada Lagna. Make Capricorn as Ascendant and see the whole chart from there and read it as if it is chart of your spouse. It will give some idea about him/her.
Exception - As always, rules have their exceptions. So, if 12th house Lord is in 12th house itself or 7 places away from 12th house then counting process, as stated above, will lead you back to 12th house, which should not be the case. In such cases, we count 10 places away from 12th house or 7th house. Like, if someone is Scorpio Ascendant in birth chart. 12th house will have Libra sign there. Now, if Libra's lord Venus is in 12th house itself or if Libra's lord Venus is in 6th house (7 places from 12th house), then following the counting process, as above, will lead us back to 12th house. In such cases, we will count 10 houses from Venus placement, either from 12th house or 6th house, as the case may be. So, if Venus is in 12th house in Libra itself, counting 10 places from there will lead us to Cancer in 9th house. Make Cancer as Ascendant and see the whole chart from there and read it as if it is chart of your spouse. It will give some idea about him/her. Likewise, if Venus is in Aries in 6th house, we need to count 10 places from 6th house and thus we will reach Capricorn in 3rd house. Make Capricorn as Ascendant and see the whole chart from there and read it as if it is chart of your spouse. It will give some idea about him/her. Also, if 12th house lord is 10 places away from itself then we count 7 houses from position of 12th house lord. Suppose there is Capricorn Ascendant. Sagittarius is 12th house. Lord of 12th house is Jupiter. If Jupiter is in 9th house in Virgo then we will count 7 signs from Virgo and Pisces will become the Upapada Lagna.

Arudha Lagna

Arudha means Illusionary and Lagna means Ascendant. So, Arudha Lagna means Illusionary Ascendant. It means that this is an ascendant in your chart which gives an illusionary picture about you to the world. When people see/meet you, and don't know you closely, they have an illusion about you as per the nature of this Lagna. Examples will clarify more.
Ex. 1 - Suppose someone is Cancer Ascendant in birth chart with Cancer's lord Moon placed in Scorpio in 5th house. So, Ascendant Lord is 5 places away from its sign. All you need to do is that you need to then calculate 5 places from Scorpio and reach Pisces in 9th house to find Arudha Lagna. Pisces will be this person's Arudha Lagna. As Pisces is sign of Spirituality, this person will be seen as a Spiritual Person in Public. Now, he may be or may not be Spiritual, but that's what people will think of him as a person till they don't know him closely.
Ex. 2 - Suppose someone is Libra Ascendant in birth chart with Libra's Lord Venus placed in Leo in 11th house. So, Ascendant Lord is 11 places away from its sign. All you need to do is that you need to then calculate 11 places from Leo and reach Gemini in 9th house to find Arudha Lagna. Gemini will be this person's Arudha Lagna. As Gemini is sign of Communication, Business & Counselling, this person will be seen as a very Communicative Person in Public. Though, it might be the case but person might be very introvert in his private life.
Exception - As always, rules have their exceptions. So, if Ascendant Lord is in Ascendant itself or 7 places away from Ascendant then counting process, as stated above, will lead you back to Ascendant, which should not be the case. In such cases, we count 10 places away from Ascendant or 7th house as the cae may be. Like, if someone is Scorpio Ascendant in birth chart with Scorpio's Lord Mars placed in Ta**us in 7th house. So, Ascendant Lord is 7 places away from its sign. Now, you can't calculate 7 places from 7th house as it will be back to 1st house. Now, you need to calculate 10 places from 7th house and reach Aquarius in 4th house to find Arudha Lagna. Aquarius will be this person's Arudha Lagna. As Aquarius people are natural Scientists of Zodiac, this person will be seen as a very Scientific, Innovative and Humanitarian type of person in Public. Though, he might or might not be.

Besides giving illusion about the person, Arudha Lagna is also seen for timing of Fame or even Defame of person through annual transits of benefic and malefic planets respectively through Arudha Lagna.

Revati literally means Wealth, while Saturn represents limitations.

As Saturn has entered Revati today, this period calls for extra caution regarding finances, otherwise we may unknowingly invite financial difficulties into our lives.

Since Saturn’s next transit will be into Aries, where it becomes debilitated, it indicates that negligence in money matters now can create long-lasting consequences during Saturn’s stay in Aries. So, it is time to buckle up.

One useful guidance during this transit is to think in terms of long-term returns whenever making a major expenditure. A trip with friends may bring temporary happiness, but investing the same amount in Gold, Silver, or Real Estate could provide stronger benefits over time. Saturn generally rewards patience, planning, and long-term vision rather than immediate gratification or short-term gains.

Revati also signifies creativity, spirituality, and imaginative pursuits. Therefore, this can be a favorable transit to devote more energy toward such areas as well.

Thanks

Karaka Nasha Bhava

This is another less known or I should say less used concept of Vedic Astrology, maybe that's why it is getting posted so late by me. But better be late than never.

So, every planet is karaka of few houses in Astrology, it means it is significator of things related to that particular house. Below is the list of the houses and their karaka planets -

1st House - Sun
2nd House - Jupiter
3rd House - Mars & Mercury
4th House - Moon
5th House - Jupiter
6th House - Mars & Saturn
7th House - Venus
8th House - Saturn
9th House - Jupiter
10th House - Sun-Mercury-Jupiter-Saturn
11th House - Jupiter
12th house - Saturn.

Now, this concept of Karaka-Nasha Bhava, as it is spread, suggests that if a planet is sitting in the house, which it is karaka of, then it destroys the results of that house. Like, if Jupiter is sitting in 2nd house, it will destroy the Family and Wealth or if Venus is in 7th house, it will destroy the relationship aspect of life.

Even prima-facie, this concept, as stated above, doesn't go down the throat so easily. More always, things in Astrology are far deeper than they look or spread out.

So, it goes like this that if a planet is sitting in the house, which it is karaka of, then as always check the dignity and basic nature of planet. If planet is in good dignity (Exalted/Own/Mool Trikon/Friendly or Neutral Sign), then it will not only protect the house but will also give benefic results. Even if planet is in bad dignity (enemy or debilitated sign) but if planet is benefic in nature, it will still provide something out of that house, if not 100% then at least 25%, because the nature of benefic planet is to provide. They are not supposed to take away things.

Like, if Jupiter is in good dignity in 2nd house, it will certainly give benefits of 2nd house of wealth and family. If it is debilitated in 2nd house, then also it means person will get Wealth from Mother or Real Estate (as Jupiter would rule 4th house) but he won't be able to save it and will spend it unnecessarily. So, it’s not that Jupiter totally denied the results of 2nd house. It still gave the wealth but not the wisdom to save it.

Even a malefic planet in good dignity will give good results of the house which it is karaka of and sitting in. Like if Mars is exalted in 6th house, it will give immense courage to fight against enemies, best example - Sachin Tendulkar's Chart. Likewise, if Saturn is in Libra in 8th house, it shows someone working in Secret Agencies for Govt and with great Authority

The real problem comes when a Malefic planet is in the house, which it is karaka of, but it is either debilitated or in enemy sign, because then not only planet's dignity is wrong but also its basic nature is malefic. In that case, it only knows to take away things if not supported by other planets through conjunction or aspects or Yogas. Like if Mars is debilitated in 6th house or Saturn is debilitated in 6th or 8th house, then we need to check for the support this planet may be getting from different Yogas and Planetary Combinations.

So, the steps involved to check the applicability of this concept are as follows –
Look at the dignity of planet. If dignity is fine, there is no Karaka Nasha Bhava.
If debilitated or enemy sign, with no other support, then Karaka Nasha Bhav applies.
Even if things are as told in point 2, a benefic planet will still give some benefits related to that house as it is its nature to provide.
Real problem comes when a malefic planet in wrong dignity sits in Karaka Bhava. Then it depends on other Yogas and Planetary Combinations for good results.
