This Verba Maximus, BITS Embryo is bringing to you a talk by best selling author, Kavita Kané.
Renowned for her novels like Karna's Wife, Sita's Sister, etc, she is considered to be a revolutionary force in Indian writing because she has brought in feminism where it is most needed - mythology.

Join us for the talk and learn more about her works and the process that goes behind the same. Tune in to the Verba Maximus page at 5 pm this Saturday (Feb 10th) for the talk!

Here is the next set of exciting events for Verba Maximus '24:

Devil's Advocate: Put your convincing and speaking skills to the test by defending the indefensible and advocating for the most morally reprehensible opinions across geopolitics, culture, science and art with Devil’s Advocate.

Shipwrecked: Embark on a unique challenge with 'Shipwrecked', where participants find themselves on a sinking ship, embodying diverse characters. In this test of persuasion and spontaneity, the coveted life jacket becomes the focal point, and individuals must articulate why they stand as the most deserving passenger.

Picture Perspective: A lens captures the layers of a place by acting as a window to its soul while writing is the perfect key to decode these layers. Participants will be given certain pictures and they will be required to express their perspective through stories, essays, etc.

Presenting the first set of events in Verba Maximus '24:

JAM: Descend into the depths of language mastery with JAM, where your words shape destiny. Can you withstand the pressure, navigating the fiery challenges of speech? Only one minute to speak but you'll be pounced on by others for every single stutter and stammer. Embrace the inferno and seize the best minute of your life.

Slam poetry: Poets will perform spoken word poetry in front of a live audience. Whether it's the rhythm of rhyming verses or the flow of non-rhyming narratives, they have the freedom to express themselves in their unique style.

Salva Veritate: A 3v3 debate with theme-based topics where you can push your mental faculties to the extreme and really test the depths of reason.

Symphonies of the Soul: The Music Club is here to bring out the poet within you. They play the instruments, and you write the songs. Lose yourself in the music and translate the moment into words to create your masterpiece.

Circle 3: Gluttony
For those guilty of uncontrollable indulgence and a consumption beyond excess.

1. Dante's Inferno: Embark on a riveting journey through the circles of Dante's Inferno at our fiery debate event.

2. ARG (Alternate Reality Game): Make your way through the ultimate internet goose chase while solving clues and ciphers at each point.

3. Sherlocked: Interrogate 8 suspects and help us get to the bottom of a chilling murder mystery here on our campus.
