“When I signed the film, I asked him only one thing - come to Annapurna College for a masterclass. And here he is to share his wisdom with you.”

Sharing a memorable moment from the sets of Coolie, Nag sir recalls how, on the last day of the shoot, Lokesh took him to a corner of the set and showed him the very place where his filmmaking journey began.

With just a budget of one lakh rupees, using only the resources available around him, Lokesh shot two scenes there. The humble beginning that eventually led to his first film.

What impressed Nagarjuna sir even more was Lokesh’s approach to filmmaking and leadership.
“I have never seen such an easy director. He has never said a word in anger. He is calm. He looks for answers every day.”

A filmmaker with remarkable clarity, Every decision is deliberate, every frame thoughtfully reworked. More importantly, he embodies the true spirit of collaboration and teamwork.

A story of passion, perseverance, clarity, and humility from one of Indian cinema’s most admired filmmakers.

Thank you Lokesh Kanagaraj

BEYOND TECHNOLOGY: PREPARING EDITORS FOR THE FUTURE

We are delighted to welcome A. Sreekar Prasad, one of India’s most acclaimed film editors and a Nine time National Award-winning craftsman, for a special interactive masterclass with our students.

As filmmaking enters an era defined by AI, virtual production, evolving storytelling forms, and increasingly complex production workflows, the editor’s role is being redefined. Yet, amidst all the technological change, the essential questions remain deeply human. How do we shape emotion? How do we understand time? How do we discover meaning within images and sound?

Join us for a thought-provoking conversation on editing, storytelling, creative collaboration, and the future of cinema with a master whose work has shaped some of Indian cinema’s most memorable films.

This special session is not merely about editing as a craft, but about learning how to think as filmmakers; how to develop judgement, sensitivity, rhythm, and storytelling intelligence in a rapidly changing creative landscape.

An invaluable opportunity to learn from a master editor, collaborator, and mentor whose insights continue to inspire filmmakers across generations.

From conceptualising the story and designing the production to handling cinematography, direction, shoot management, and overall ex*****on, the entire project was driven by the students’ creativity, teamwork, and dedication.

This music video project was much more than a shoot—it served as an immersive learning experience that allowed students to understand the complete filmmaking process, including storytelling, visual storytelling techniques, production planning, creative problem-solving, and effective on-set teamwork.

It is inspiring to see our students push their creative boundaries, gain valuable hands-on experience, and evolve into skilled and confident filmmakers through every project they undertake.
