We mourn the loss of Arun John, a cherished member of our community. As an esteemed educator at Annapurna College of Film and Media and a passionate PhD Research Fellow at the Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad, Arun made valuable contributions to the field of communication research. Congratulations to Thota Laxmikantha Rao from the Batch of 1993 on being elected as an MLA from Jukkal in the 2023 Telangana Elections. He is a regular at Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad alumni meets and participates quite actively in the association.

We are delighted to host a screening on our campus of Other Kohinoors (45 min), the much-awaited documentary on the rocks of Hyderabad, made by Uma Magal, independent filmmaker and University of Hyderabad alumna on Tuesday, September 13, 3 pm at the School of Humanities Auditorium. It's a must watch film for people who are concerned about the rapid destruction of the city's rockscapes and grew up with them as part of our environment, culture, and heritage. ALL ALUMNI ARE WELCOME.

Prof. (Dr.) Kanchan K. Malik, Department of Communication, S N School of Arts & Communication, University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship (FNAPE) for 2022-23. As part of the fellowship, Prof. Malik will research and teach at the University of Texas, Austin, USA, for seven months starting September 1, 2022.
