It was an absolute pleasure to meet Dr. Gunjan Kapadia, Co-founder and CEO of Sthyr Energy Private Limited, a startup initiated at IIT Madras. Sthyr Energy is working on energy storage for renewables power through zinc-air batteries.

Dr. Kapadia visited our lab, and I explained my research work related to pNIPAM microgel, as well as my parallel project on the application of microrheology to access entanglement concentration for predicting the electrospinnability of polymer solutions.

He provided some insightful suggestions, which was incredibly helpful. Not only did I benefit from his expertise, but he also shared his experiences and challenges in becoming a successful startup founder. It was truly an amazing experience to learn from him.

One key takeaway from our discussion was the importance of setting clear targets and aligning our research with industry challenges. This helps make our research more impactful and relevant to real-world problems.

Exciting Visit to Unilever Bangalore! 🚀

I recently had the privilege of visiting Unilever’s Bangalore site, and it was an incredible experience! 🤩 The site presentation at ‘Revel in U’ (the reverse of Unilever 💡), was impressive, with its modern architecture and lush greenery.

During the visit, I explored various facilities, including:

✨ Soap Bar Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC), where I met the lead, who shared fascinating insights into the history of soap and ongoing research.
✨ Home Care Pilot Plant, where I gained knowledge about innovative product development.
✨ Coffee/Tea Plant, where I learned about Unilever’s coffee/tea production processes.

I was also amazed by the library, which had a vast collection of books. I stumbled upon a book on “Scattering of Light” written by CV Raman, which was a thrilling find! 📚 The ambiance on campus was also truly appreciable.

What struck me most was the expertise and approachability of the officials and lab personnel. Their passion for innovation and willingness to share knowledge was totally inspiring.

Exciting Experience at Momentive’s R&D Centre! 🚀

I’m thrilled to share my recent visit to Momentive Performance Materials’ Research and Development Centre in Bangalore, India! 📍 Located in Electronic City, this centre serves as a regional business headquarters and focuses on developing innovative technologies and products for global and regional markets in India, Africa, and the Middle East.

During my visit, I had the privilege of presenting my research work to esteemed scientists and receiving valuable feedback. The discussion was enriching, and I appreciate the insightful suggestions provided by the experts. I also explored their state-of-the-art labs and got a glimpse into their cutting- edge research.
