Please think before you plastic!!!

When did our future stop being a promise and transition to being a threat?

This is a beach in Mumbai a few weeks ago when the ocean vomited (yes, vomited!) plastic.

If every bit of plastic that was created is still there in the planet imagine the thrash pile in the oceans, rivers and the ground underneath.

You may ask, What about the plastic that has been burnt and 'taken care of'? Well, it still exists. In a more dangerous invisible mode as a cancer causing pollutant in the atmosphere.

As mountain folks, we have special responsibility to ensure that we manage our waste better and keep our rivers and jhoras clean. After all, where do you think the rivers and the jhoras finally dump the plastic?

Let's remember that we didn't inherit this bountiful planet from our ancestors. We have just borrowed it from our children. In what state would you want to hand over your forests, rivers and oceans to them tomorrow?

Can one individual's life choices make a difference? Ask, that to a turtle in the ocean who didn't get choked in that plastic bag that YOU denied taking in the cash counter of that mall. Yes, one individual's life choices can and does make a difference.

Let's work towards transforming our present so that the future once again...is a promise. A bright promise that we all look forward to.

P.S.: We request you to share the photo and the post wildly. Yes, without any inhibition. Trust us, there is still very little awareness about this grave challenge faced by our generation.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
“I would like to extend my warm greetings to the readers of this communiqué. I am thrilled to make you aware of a critical moment in the history of Al-Ameen Model High School (AAMS). AAMS is approaching the Silver Jubilee Year in 2014-2015 i.e. 25 years of excellence in gifting education; and going forward we are making key changes to upgrade our already successful teaching methods to ensure we give the best possible education to your child.

AAMS was established in1990 with only a few girl students who barely occupied a single bench, in what used to be my house cm reception room. In the last two and half decades we have grown into a recognized institution by the govt. of Andhra Pradesh, from which an approximate of 5000 students have completed their Secondary Education. Our alumni i.e. past students are now engineers, doctors, IT professionals, Businessmen, teachers etc in various parts of the world, carrying our creed and values that we have embroidered.

With the blessings of the Almighty Allah (S.W.T), your continued support and our shear dedication, the institution has never looked back since its establishment. From academic year 2014-2015, we will be introducing separate girls and boys sections for 6th to 10th classes. This will enable us to duly manage the key classes with greater degree of focus per student. We have updated Staff Management Competency Structure (SMCS), which will enhance teaching and learning strategies.”
