IMPROVING RTA SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS.

Every visit to RTA lasts 2 to 3 hours.

Over the years of visiting RTAs in TS we have been requesting some changes.
1. User friendly website.
2. Friendly helpful staff.
3. Basics of seating, toilets, shelter from sun and availability of drinking water.
4. Proper sign boards and instructions for people attending.
5. Disciplined parking and less chaotic atmosphere.

It's a shame public have to point out basics to an important huge setup that collects funds that are non refundable even if applicant has makes a slightest error.

RTA VISIT SHOULD BE A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.

RTA Medchal on 26th Feb fiber optic cable cut. RTA shutdown till 2pm. All 26th applicants were granted 28th slots.

On 28th computer not updated and again a stressful experience for all those struggling in the heat and dust. Finally got 2 passes after all their efforts.

Also, recommended some shelters from sun, water point, cafe and seating for convenience of those attending.

THE 10 MINUTE RTA DRIVING TEST IN TELANGANA.

Online slots are booked from 9am onwards but staff stroll in at 1030am or 11am.

Like most Govt offices the area is crowded by people and cars, all in a haphazard fashion.
The surroundings are dusty, no place to sit for waiting public and no shelter from the harsh midday sun. There are no public toilets, water or canteen facilities.
Crores of rupees are collected by the RTA but little or nothing is provided to the convenience or basic comforts to citizens. On the other hand staff shout at people, have no respect for customers and make excuses with paperwork expecting cash to pass it through. Often they throw applications back if not stapled in order.
These conditions prevail because only ordinary citizens visit these places. Govt officials, ministers and others have RTA services delivered to their doorstep. Equality?

The venue of the test track is high walled and no one is allowed to view how the student is doing. The test consists of one figure of 8, a forward and reverse in an H, and a 3point turn. The test is over in less than 10 minutes. The students go solo while viewed by testing staff seated in a blacked out glass cabin. CCTV does not work. The LMV test is easy to do in a small car the 2 wheeler test is not possible on any modern motorcycle with a large turning radius. It's okay for a small scooter.
In conclusion, this driving test only checks slow speed reversing and parking skills. The 21 other skills for safe driving on our roads as mentioned in CMVR 1989 S. 15 are not checked.
The test is inadequate to permit drivers on a public road as more important skills and control of the vehicle are not checked. MORTH stats indicate over 80% of accidents are driver error. Young people are our future.

Could this lax licensing system be the cause of the high accident and death rates?

RUMBLE STRIPS

The city builds smooth roads and then the put rumble strips. Often, this is done after an accident on that road. There is no evidence of this reducing accidents.

It does not reduce speed, its not a speed breaker and it shakes up every nut bolt and suspension bush on the vehicle which finally results in rattle and damage to the vehicle.

It is used to alert a driver of the shoulder of the road, or a sterile road divider that should not be driven on or a driver who has lost direction after dozing off. People building and drivers should know the purpose of rumble strips. It is a fruitless exercise and waste of money.

I could be wrong. What are your views on rumble strips?

What are rumble strips and how they reduce road accidents Rumble strips are grooves or indents on roads that are used to provide the driver with a tactile and audible warning. Rumble strips are usually placed ahead of merging lanes or road shoulders.
