Bravo
WRITING ABOUT OUR FEELINGS CAN BE DIFFICULT. Especially when those remarks are shared with someone we care about regarding sensitive matters.
Have you ever found it difficult to put a name to an emotion you were having? Do you ever get the impression that you're not sure why you're feeling the same way?
Did it seem even more difficult to convey or explain your feelings to others?
The circle contains additional emotional terms that might be used in place of intellectual ones.
FEELING THE THING: When an emotion arises, focus at the wheel.
GET TO THE CORE Emotions FIRST: Begin with the inner-most wheel and work your way outward, from the core feelings to any connected feelings that may arise for you.
HOW ARE YOU FEELING? If a fundamental emotion is unclear, you can work from the outside in, first recognizing the linked sensation and then working your way toward the fundamental emotion. You don't have to "search" for the proper word. Rather, while you notice, take note of which words you can relate the most
COMPARE FEELINGS: You may also use the chart to compare how you feel currently to how you felt earlier in the day or even yesterday. As an example:
“I’m feeling _________ today, but yesterday I felt _______ and ________. “
What are your thoughts? Please let me know in the comments!
