PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT | HEATWAVE ADVISORY
The Department of Community Medicine, Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (AIMSR), Hyderabad , issues an important public health alert regarding the ongoing severe heatwave conditions affecting large parts of India.
Extreme temperatures significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, especially among vulnerable groups including children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and outdoor workers.
Stay well hydrated
Avoid outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours
Wear light, loose cotton clothing
Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms of heat stroke appear
Small preventive measures can save lives and prevent serious health complications. Public awareness and timely action are essential to safeguard community health during extreme weather conditions.

Over five enriching days from May 13th–16th, 2026, the Batch of 2023 at Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Hyderabad showcased a remarkable spirit of scientific curiosity and ethical responsibility through the Student Research Presentations.
With guidance from the Institutional Ethics Committee, nearly 150 undergraduate medical students presented their research proposals, reflecting innovation, evidence-based thinking, and a strong commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and research integrity.
The event celebrated the growing research culture among future doctors, inspiring compassionate, ethical, and academically driven medical professionals.

We are delighted to share a proud achievement of our institution.
Dr. Pratyusha Ruddarraju, a resident from the 2021 batch at Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Hyderabad, has successfully completed the prestigious ESOR Bracco Fellowship in Cardiovascular Radiology, with a duration of 2 months.
She was awarded the Certificate of Completion at ECR 2026 held in Vienna, under the esteemed guidance of Prof. N. L. N. Moorthy (Head of Department).

On Founders’ Day, 93rd birthday of our visionary Founder Dr. Pratap Reddy Sir, we successfully performed our first cardiac intervention (PTCA) in the Cath Lab — a historic first for our medical college.
The Cath Lab, a gracious gift from our Founder, reflects his enduring vision for excellence in healthcare and education.
