which educational approach is recommended for children with intellectual disability?
option 1. regular education curriculum
option 2. social-competency based curriculum
option 3. no-specific curriculum
option 4. standardised curriculum
The correct answer is option 2: "Social-competency based curriculum".
Children with intellectual disabilities benefit from a curriculum that focuses on developing social and adaptive skills, such as:
- Communication
- Self-care
- Social interactions
- Emotional regulation
- Daily living skills
A social-competency based curriculum prioritizes these skills, helping individuals with intellectual disabilities to:
- Develop independence
- Build relationships
- Participate in their community
- Lead fulfilling lives
Here's why the other options aren't recommended:
- Option 1: "Regular education curriculum" may not be tailored to meet the unique needs of children with intellectual disabilities.
- Option 3: "No-specific curriculum" lacks direction and focus, potentially hindering progress.
- Option 4: "Standardized curriculum" may not account for individual differences and needs.
A social-competency based curriculum is often implemented in special education settings, where teachers and support staff work together to create personalized learning plans

How drastically declined CwSN enrollment from 2014-15 to 2020-21 even the disabilities enhanced 7 to 21 after enacted of RPwD Act, 2016.
It evidents that, no recruitment of Special Educators in Class room system in entire country failures of implementing authourities. Still we fight for it. how pathetic it is!
As per the 2011 census in India, over 61 per cent of disabled children attend educational institutions and 12 per cent of disabled population attended schools earlier. But 27 per cent of them did not do so.
