A new year at Amra has begun, and with it, the beginning of many new experiences, connections, and discoveries.

Our Parent Orientation was an opportunity for families to step into the spaces their children will be growing and learning in, experience a little of what their days at Amra will look like, and meet the people who will be part of their journey.

Thank you to all our parents for joining us, for being curious, and for beginning this year with us. We look forward to all that lies ahead.

Introducing Amra Tinkerlab - a space for play, where children make, break, remake, and discover. Through real materials and open-ended exploration, they learn by following their curiosity and testing their ideas.

Our very first session began with wood. We discovered where it comes from, explored different types through touch, and experienced sanding, watching the material change beneath our hands.

We believe every material has a story, every tool invites curiosity, and every child learns by doing.

Just make a mark and see where it takes you. - Peter H. Reynolds, The Dot

In the book, Vashti is sure she can’t draw. Her teacher doesn’t correct her. She simply frames the small, frustrated dot Vashti made, and takes it seriously. Being seen is what unlocks the rest.

Creative confidence in early childhood isn’t taught. It’s protected. Children arrive curious and willing to try. What shapes them is whether we treat their attempts as worth noticing. Process over product. The mark, not the masterpiece.

That’s the spirit behind our new Tinker Lab at Amra. A space with no right answer, just materials to test, ideas to try, and mess to make. Some days that’s a bold invention. Some days it’s one small, uncertain dot. Both matter.

Because children don’t need us to make them creative. They need us to notice when they already are.

The first week isn’t about having it all figured out.

It’s about small moments that slowly become familiar. Curious hands, new friendships, silent discoveries, and the first steps towards belonging.

Here’s to the beginning of another beautiful year at Amra! :)

This weekend, Amra came a little closer to home.

Through stories, games and countless shared smiles, families gathered to celebrate what Father’s Day is truly about: connection.

At Amra, we believe childhood grows through relationships, and some of the most powerful learning happens in moments spent together.

Thank you to every father who showed up, joined in, got silly, got creative, and made memories alongside their child.

At Amra, we believe that meaningful learning begins with connection, to stories, to play, and to one another.

Amra in Your Neighbourhood was a chance to bring that philosophy beyond our walls and into the community, inviting families to experience a little of what makes us special. Through the story “”Wow! Said the Owl”” by Tim Hopgood, children and families spent the morning creating, discovering, and sharing moments together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in their neighbourhood. :)

Science came alive through laughter, bubbling foam, careful observation, and tiny hands experimenting side by side.

At our Science Atelier, curiosity took the lead. Children discovered sound vibrations, magnets, light and shadow, and chemical reactions through open-ended, hands-on exploration.

At Amra, learning always begins with wonder.

The last day of school at Amra was full of little moments we know we’ll remember.

Children spent the morning splashing around in water, playing beach games, and adding little pieces of themselves to our summer tree with notes brought from home.

There was laughter and the kind of slow, happy moments we hope childhood is full of. What a privilege it has been to witness their friendships, curiosities, conversations, and growth unfold day by day.

Wishing all our families a gentle, joy-filled summer.

There’s nothing quite like watching a child get lost in a story, and this Thursday, we are making that magic happen at Amra!

Author Armaan Farid will be joining us live to read The Brave Little Dinosaur: Achoo, following the adventures of the bravest little dinosaur with the biggest sneeze around.

It is going to be a morning of pure joy, imagination, and laughter, for our wonderful Amra family!
