Half price public transport for international students in Melbourne from 2015

Victoria is ready to become a good additional engaging destination for overseas students through a replacement theme that gives a fifty per cent discount on annual conveyance tickets for international students.

“We are happy with the top quality instructional expertise we are able to provide international students and that we are committed to making sure they even have a secure and rewardable time in Melbourne and Victoria and each chance to relish our acclaimed quality of life,” Minister for Innovation, Services and tiny Business Louise Asher.

Minister for public transport Terry Mulder aforesaid the initiative would supply a fifty per cent discount on annual conveyance tickets covering trains, trams and buses for all eligible international students.

“Victoria’s theme can build out there discounted tickets altogether metropolitan travel zones, together with Zone 1 only that covers inner Melbourne, similarly as among regional centers,” Mr Mulder aforesaid.

“The theme are going to be trialled from 2015 for 3 years in partnership with education suppliers to cut back transport prices for eligible students in eligible Melbourne metropolitan and country instructional establishments.

“This can build international students feel even additional welcome after they come back to check in Victoria and enhance our reputation as a world leading international student city.

“An overseas student can currently lay aside to $1105 each year traveling across the greater city of Melbourne," Mr Mulder aforesaid.
