Field trip to ICRISAT
Recently, our grade 9 Computer Science students visited the ICRISAT (International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics) Agrometeorological Observatory, where they explored how technology and sensors are used in modern agriculture. Students got a chance to interact with professionals, observe these systems in action and gain a better understanding of how some of the technology they learn about in class is applied in real life.
Being part of a campus like ICRISAT, gives our students a wonderful opportunity to see these innovations up close. We believe experiences like these make learning more meaningful and engaging.

Experiential learning trip to Hampi
The Grade 7 experiential learning trip to Hampi was a journey filled with exploration. Students witnessed the sunrise at Matanga Hill, took part in a mock excavation activity, explored village life, reflected through journaling sessions and engaged in creative handicraft workshops, gaining a deeper understanding of history, culture, archaeology and community life.
At ISH, experiential learning trips play an important role in helping students connect with meaningful real-world experiences. These opportunities nurture a deeper appreciation of the world around them. The experience ended with a gratitude circle and a joyful musical evening, leaving students inspired by the timeless beauty and stories of Hampi.

Nurturing confident and caring learners
At ISH, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is thoughtfully integrated into student learning.
In Elementary School, our focus last month was on Emotional Regulation. By revisiting the Zones of Regulation, students are learning to understand, express and manage their feelings in a healthy way. They are building a stronger emotional vocabulary and practicing how to respond with calmness and empathy.
As students prepare for upcoming transitions, these skills will help them feel more confident, balanced and ready for what’s ahead.
Together with our amazing counselors, we continue to support our students in understanding themselves and caring for others.

Making a difference
I Can Volunteer is a unique initiative that supports children battling cancer in Hyderabad through storytelling, play and human connection.
ICV was founded by Ms. Sheila Ramesh, Head of the World Languages Department at ISH. Many of our students spend time with these children, playing, talking and helping them feel happy and cared for, and the initiative continues to inspire our community.
We’re proud to share that I Can Volunteer has been featured in The Hindu.

Class of 2026 hosts thank you lunch.
Every year, the graduating class hosts a special thank you lunch for our support staff. It is a moment set aside to express heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make school life smooth and welcoming.
The Class of 2026 embraced this tradition with warmth. They organized some fun games that saw enthusiastic participation. A few students also gave speeches, expressing their appreciation and sharing memories of those who have supported them over the years, many of whom have been part of their journey since their earliest days at school.
We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026. As they step into the next chapter of their lives, we believe these values will continue to shape who they become.

Vipers shine at ISACI Tournament in Delhi
Our student-athletes had a great experience at the recent ISACI Tournament held at The British School, Delhi, competing in Middle School Football and Middle/High School Swimming.
ISACI (International School Activities Conference) brings together some of the premier international schools from across India, making it one of the most competitive events on the school sports calendar. For many students, it is a tournament they remember, not just for the competition, but for the friendships and experiences.
Both our boys’ and girls’ football teams showed remarkable team spirit throughout the tournament. The Middle School Boys Football team had a strong run, securing two wins and finishing in 3rd place after a series of closely contested matches.
In the pool, our swimmers delivered impressive performances across categories, making us proud with their effort and sportsmanship.
Overall, the tournament was a wonderful experience for our athletes. Congratulations to all medal winners and sportsmanship award recipients.

Earth day at ISH
This year, we marked Earth Day at ISH in a meaningful way by coming together and taking small actions to build awareness within our community.
In the elementary school, students and staff showed up in earth colours (greens, blues, browns and yellows) as a reminder of what we’re trying to protect. During their assembly, the Eco Squad spoke about everyday choices that can add up over time.
Across the school, from 8:30 to 9:30 am, we observed earth hour. Lights were switched off, chargers unplugged, ACs turned down and many classes moved outdoors or opened up their windows. It was a quiet pause at the start of the day. And it made an amazing difference. That single hour led to a 9.6% reduction from our average daily consumption.
It may seem like a small step, but we believe that’s how change usually begins.

A greener ISH
Our ISH campus is already a beautiful green space and it’s something we all enjoy every day.
This Earth Day, it was nice to see one more tree being added to our campus. Inspired by the Middle School production of The Lorax, the Student Council planted a Benishan mango tree near the Amphitheatre.
This is a small step towards raising awareness and caring for our environment. We thank the STUCO for organising this wonderful initiative.

Our Middle School football team, along with the Middle & High School swimming teams, are ready to compete at the International Schools Athletics Conference of India (ISACI) tournament. The gym was filled with so much energy as we came together for a spirited pep rally, cheering, clapping and sending off our student athletes.
They will be taking on strong teams from Mahindra International School, Stonehill International School and The British School.
Wishing them all the very best.
