Traditional Ganesha idols are often made of Plaster of Paris (PoP) and chemical paints, which can harm water bodies during immersion. By using multi-coloured 100% cotton towels, Welspun created a completely sustainable and zero-waste installation. Instead of being immersed and dissolved, the towels can be un-layered and repurposed or donated once the festival concludes.

Today i.e April 11 is celebrated as Mahatma Jyothi Rao Phule Jayanti on account of his 196th Birth Anniversary.

Here are some points as why we should pay tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Jyothi Rao Phule.

1. He is the first person in India who believed that Education can remove social hindrances.

2. He formed Sathyashodak society which aimed at equal rights for all caste people.

3.He educated his wife Savitri Bhai Phule and also started first school for girls in 1848.

4.Legacy of Social Reformers should be carried for Emancipation.

5. He was honoured with title Mahatma in Mumbai in 1888. He is truly known as Mahatma Jyothi Rao Phule.

6.He also wrote a book called Gulamgiri which always stands as a source of inspiration and knowledge for Emancipation.

India successfully test fired Agni 5 ICBM ( intercontinental ballistic missile) striking targets at a range of 5500 Kms. This missile is nuclear capable, solid-fuelled, and can be launched from a truck on the road. The maximum range is said to be 8000 Kms.
