EBSB Club IIIT Raichur

To celebrate the bonds that the students of IIITR and IIITS had made over the course of the latter's visit, IIITR organized a cultural and traditional day, where students were asked to come in their traditional attires. The students also interacted with IIITR's mentor director, Dr. BS Murthy and other esteemed faculty of the institute. The students celebrated Bathukamma, a traditional Telangana festival. They were also greeted with a classical music performance. The students and faculty alike were treated with delicious delicacies of Telangana in a special lunch organized by the institute. It was followed by a friendly cricket match between the two institutes.

To showcase the rich history and heritage of Telangana, IIITR organized a trip to Salarjung Museum, Char Minar and The Golconda Fort for the students of IIIT Sonepat. The architectural marvels provided them with insight and transported them to a world that once existed.

The true essence of one's culture comes from their language. With this thought in mind, the EBSB club of IIITR celebrated language elocution day along with their friends from IIIT Sonepat. It included exciting activities like antaakshari and public speaking in one's mother tongue.

The soul of a place lives in its villages. With this thought in mind, the EBSB club of IIITR organized a trip to the village of Gongulur along with the students of IIIT Sonepat as part of their visit to the state of Telangana. The students got to interact with the people of the village and even got to go to the village school. This was followed by a trip to a reservoir and bird sanctuary.

To illustrate the significance of the wonderful and diverse cultural dance forms spread across our incredible country, the EBSB club of IIITR along with IIT Hyderabad organized a workshop aptly named "Nrityanjali", which saw great participation.

To observe International Mother Language Day, the EBSB Club of IIITR along with IITH organised Poster Making, Slogan, Essay Writing & Antakshari Competition in which people could participate in their mother language.

To kick off the cultural exchange programme of EBSB with great pomp and show, IIIT Raichur conducted an interactive session with the students of IIIT Sonepat and DEAN of student affairs(IIT Hyderabad) - Prof P. Rajalakshmi, followed by orientation and a friendly campus tour.

The EBSB Club of IIIT Raichur welcomes IIIT Sonepat for a Cultural Exchange Programme during which the students will be staying together at the IIT Hyderabad campus for a week, taking part in various cultural events and exciting activities.
