Celebrating the Spirit of Childhood: Children's Day in India

Children's Day in India, celebrated on November 14th, is a tribute to the country's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and his affection for children. Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and prosperity. It begins on the fourth day of the Hindu lunar month Bhadrapada, which typically falls in August or September. The festival spans ten days, culminating in the grand immersion of Ganesha idols into bodies of water, symbolizing his return to Mount Kailas. This tradition, which began as a private family celebration, has evolved into a community event of shared joy and devotion, with elaborate public displays and cultural activities.
