Little Learners, Big Discoveries at Our School Avenue- Our Pre-K students turned family time into math time this week! By sorting their own family photos into Oldest, Middle, Youngest, and Only Child columns, our little mathematicians built a real picture graph — and picked up some seriously big skills along the way:
Collecting and organizing data
Comparing quantities ("Whose column has more?")
Celebrating what makes every family special

At the Pre-K Level-Math isn't just numbers — it's noticing patterns in the people we love most.

Eight weeks at Our School Avenue is all it took. Our KGII student sat down with a picture book, opened it just the way his teacher does, and told the story — same pause before the big reveal, same voice for the character, same little hand gesture on the last page.

Eight weeks in, and he wasn’t just listening at circle time. He was becoming a storyteller. That’s the quiet magic of kindergarten. Kids don’t just learn what you teach — they absorb how you teach it.

And strong early childhood teaching looks like this in our kindergarten class at Our School Avenue— not just content delivered, but habits of mind quietly taking root.

Learning Smart Money Choices!

Our Grade 4 students dove into a hands-on activity on Essential and Non-Essential Family Expenses this week!
They explored the difference between needs vs. wants, and built a real understanding of why making wise spending decisions matters — a valuable life skill that goes far beyond the classroom! From groceries to gadgets, our young learners are growing into thoughtful, financially aware individuals!

Tiger Day at Our School Avenue 🐯

Our first graders roared into learning today in their Art Class, celebrating Tiger Day with wide-eyed wonder! They explored the tiger’s natural habitat and discovered the clever secret behind its stripes — how this magnificent hunter blends into tall grass to stay hidden while stalking its prey.
Through stories, discussion, and imaginative play, our little learners built early awareness of wildlife and conservation — one paw print at a time. 🌿🐾

Exploring Families Around the World!

Our Grade 4 students headed to the ICT lab this week for an exciting research adventure! They explored how families live in different countries — discovering diverse family structures, cultural traditions, and delicious cuisines from around the globe!Along the way, our young researchers: Sharpened their research skills, ,Practiced communication and presentation, Shared their findings with peers, learning from one another
A wonderful blend of technology, curiosity, and cultural awareness — helping our students see the world through a wider lens!

A Beautiful Day of Intergenerational Connection at Our School Avenue!
Staff and students at Our School Avenue had the joy of hosting DOBARA, an NGO dedicated to senior well-being, for a heartwarming session of intergenerational interaction. Our wonderful seniors visited classrooms, engaged with our teachers, and spent quality time with our students. From lively games to an exciting quiz for our Grade 5, 6 & 7 students, the energy was infectious! The seniors were all smiles, thoroughly enjoying the warmth and enthusiasm of our school community.

Moments like these remind us that learning isn’t just about textbooks — it’s about connection, wisdom, and joy across generations. 🧡

🎒 Back to School – The DOBARA Way! 💛

We're going back to school... and we can't wait! 😊

After the wonderful memories we created last year, DOBARA is excited to return to Our School @ 12 Avenue for another heartwarming intergenerational experience.

Last year's School Picnic was a huge success, with seniors and children enjoying a day full of fun games, laughter, conversations, delicious food, and unforgettable moments together. The smiles on every face reminded us how powerful intergenerational connections can be.

This year, we're looking forward to creating even more beautiful memories! As part of the school's food and nutrition activity, our members will prepare and enjoy healthy roti rolls (wraps) with the children, followed by games, interaction, and lots of joyful moments. 🌯💛
