*Last Day, Best Day.*

Today marked our last working day before the summer break, and we made sure it was truly magical!

The day was filled with laughter and wonder as one of our teachers turned into a magician and put up a surprise magic show. Gasps, giggles, and wide-eyed amazement filled the room as our little ones watched the tricks unfold.

Along with the magic, children enjoyed fun activities and grooved to lively music in our mini dance party. All the children of the play school also enjoyed eating their snacks together in an open area, sharing smiles and sunshine.

The joy on their faces said it all, what a perfect way to end the term.

As we head into summer holidays, we wish all our children and parents a safe, happy, and refreshing break. See you all soon with new stories to share!

WORLD EARTH DAY

“The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth. Let us nurture it with love and protect it with care.”
The theme for Earth Day 2026 is “Our Power, Our Planet “.
Our planet Earth, with its abundant natural beauty and life-sustaining resources, is truly a blessing. However, it also calls for our responsibility and care. To instill this awareness from an early age, World Earth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal by the tiny tots of the Sister Nivedita Play school on April 22nd.

The celebration began with a cheerful welcome and a short introduction about Earth Day. Teachers explained in simple words how our Earth gives us air, water, food, and a beautiful place to live, and why we must take care of it.

The principal of the school Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari graced the occasion.
The programme began with a simple skit presented by our tiny tots of Balvatika 2 and 3, it was a magnificent and beautifully portrayed the journey from decay to restoration, continued with a melodious song. It was not just a song, it was a soulful journey through nature's wonders, followed by a dance. The children were so precise and expressive, they impressed everyone with their graceful moves.

The main attraction of the program was when our Principal and Coordinators added their colorful handprints to our Earth Day promise board. This special gesture showed our children that caring for the Earth begins with our leaders, together with us.
With handprints, pledges, and happy hearts, we all joined hands to care for our environment and save the Earth for our future.

The principal ma'am appreciated the tiny tots as ` little change makers’,
and said no hand is too small to make a difference. She called them Eco - warriors. She appreciated the efforts of teachers for organising such meaningful activities.

The Chairman of the school Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani, and the Correspondent of the school, Rtn.Hari Haraprasad, expressed to continue the green habits every day beyond just one day. To remember every day is Earth day when we respect our planet. Together let's raise a generation that loves and protects our Mother Earth.

The event concluded successfully
by encouraging everyone to start at least one “green habit”, such as refusing single use of plastic and saving water. Also by planting and growing more trees.

Over the last two weeks, our foundational classrooms focused on learning through play-based activities that strengthen key developmental areas.

Activities were planned to enhance *fine motor skills* — gripping, sorting, building with small materials; *gross motor skills* — jumping, balancing, coordinated movement; along with visual perception, problem-solving, and peer collaboration.

Learning Through Play:

Our classrooms have been buzzing these past two weeks — not with noise, but with learning disguised as play.

From stacking blocks to threading beads, balancing on lines to hopping through patterns, our children explored through _play-based activities_ designed to build more than just fun. Each game was a skill in disguise: fingers strengthened for writing, bodies coordinated for balance, eyes trained to observe, and minds encouraged to solve.

Fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, social — we saw growth across all domains. Children who once struggled to hold a crayon are now creating patterns with ice-cream sticks. Shy ones are leading group games. Little steps, big wins.

Because when children play with purpose, every moment becomes a lesson. And every lesson feels like joy.

World Health Day
“Play, eat, and grow healthy every day.”
Health isn’t just about hospitals; it includes clean water, safe streets, nutritious meals, and time to play and rest. When communities get these basics right, children learn better, adults work better, and everyone lives fuller lives. Small choices-like walking more, getting enough sleep, and sharing healthy meals-add up to big changes.

On the occasion of World Health Day, Sister Nivedita, The Play School, Ameerpet celebrated with great enthusiasm, aligning with the World Health Organization’s theme, “Together for Health: Stand with Science.” The objective of the day was to introduce young learners to the importance of health, hygiene, and environmental awareness, and to teach them how to take care of themselves.
To celebrate the day, the little learners stepped into the roles of junior chefs. The goal was to introduce healthy alternatives to sugary drinks by involving children in the preparation of two nutritional powerhouses-fresh watermelon juice and wholesome ragi malt.
The day began with a song about maintaining good health through small steps in our daily lives. This was followed by the tiny tots explaining how to prepare watermelon juice and ragi malt, along with their health benefits. Later, these two healthy drinks were served to every child. The children enjoyed refreshing glasses of fresh watermelon juice and homemade ragi malt. They sipped, smiled, and even asked for refills. Pink cheeks, happy sighs, and a chorus of “Again?” told us everything-healthy food can be tasty too!
This activity taught them about foods that help make their bones strong and bodies healthy. Many children were surprised to discover that a brown drink like ragi malt could be so delicious. The activity also engaged their senses of touch, smell, and taste as they explored different textures—from the grainy ragi flour to the juicy, fibrous watermelon. The day was a great success as the children were actively involved in the preparation process.
The Principal of the school, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, applauded the little ones for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated the teachers for organizing such a thoughtful Health Day celebration. She emphasized that introducing watermelon juice and ragi malt was a masterstroke in nutritional education. By replacing sugary processed drinks with these traditional superfoods, we are not only nourishing their bodies but also building a strong foundation for mindful eating.
The Chairman of the school, Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani, and the Correspondent of the school, Rtn. Harihara Prasad, emphasized the importance of good health and extended their best wishes to all the students on the occasion of World Health Day.

“Play-built skills, happy in the school premises.”

Tiny hands, tall focus: Tracing, puzzles, crawling lane,Hop-scotch jumps, mirror walks, towers that tumble — our little learners from Junior and Senior Discoverer spent their full week with bending, balancing and beaming. From cycling circles to colour matches, each game sneaks in fine- and gross-motor wins.

The skills are planned to bring the giggles among all the tiny tots of The Play School.
“Happy children through the gate - happily waiting to come back the next day.”

The celebrations began with a devotional song on Lord Sri Rama and chanting mantras like “jai shree Ram” and as it marks the birth of lord Shri Ram, a pooja was performed by the principal Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari to seek the blessings of Lord Rama for everyone.

Our little ones stepped into the roles of Maryada, Purushottam Sri Ram and graceful Sita Mata along with Lakshmana and Lord Hanuman bringing the epic Ramayana into life. Clad in traditional finery with bows
and arrows in hands, they reminded us of the timeless values of truth, righteousness and devotion.
The atmosphere turned into a mini Ayodhya. It was a heart melting sight
to see them embody the purity and strength of these divine figures.

The children performed dance which included the swayamvaram of Sita and how lord Rama married Goddess Sita.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of panakam and vadapapi to the students.
The principal ma'am, expressed happiness at the participation of children and advised everyone to follow the path of truth and honesty.
