Holi, the vibrant festival of colours, celebrates the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. In joyous atmosphere, people playfully throw coloured powders and water, symbolizing forgiveness and renewal. The night before, bonfires are lit in a ritual called Holika Dahan, and the following day is filled with music, dancing, feasting, and the sharing of sweets, making it a time for families and communities to come together in celebration.
May this Holi burn away all your worries and negativity, and bring in a season of joy and positivity. Happy Holi!

Happy International Women's Day 2025 🎉
đź“– Quote of the week!
"Liberty is the first condition of growth. It is wrong, a thousand times wrong, if any of you dares to say, “I will work out the salvation of this woman or child.” I am asked again and again, what I think of the widow problem and what I think of the woman question. Let me answer once for all — am I a widow that you ask me that nonsense? Am I a woman that you ask me that question again and again? Who are you to solve women’s problems? Are you the Lord God that you should rule over every widow and every woman? Hands off! They will solve their own problems.”
― Swami Vivekananda.

Vivekananda Youth Circle, IIEST Shibpur, organized the screening of a documentary on Swami Vivekananda's Swadesh Chetana to welcome the first-year members. The documentary provided all attendees with a deeper understanding of Swami Vivekananda’s vision and ideals.
Following the screening, over forty first-year students participated in a quiz competition based on the documentary. Their enthusiasm was extraordinary, and each participant performed admirably, demonstrating the level of attention they paid to the documentary. The top ten scorers were recognized with prizes awarded by Dr. Anirban Gupta.
We concluded the event with a group recitation of Swami Vivekananda’s Swadesh Mantra, after which refreshments were served to all attendees. As a source of inspiration, every participant was presented with a copy of "Awake, O Hero!", a book that is the compilation of quotation of Swami Vivekananda.
Our sincere gratitude goes to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event! Let us continue on our journey along the path of knowledge and service. 🙏

🌍📚 Happy International Mother Language Day 2025! 🎉
Today, we celebrate the beauty of our mother tongues and the right to speak and learn in our own languages. International Mother Language Day, observed on February 21, was first recognized by UNESCO in 1999 to remember the students who lost their lives on this day in 1952 in Dhaka, Bangladesh (then East Pakistan). They stood up for the right to use Bangla (Bengali) as an official language, a key moment in the language movement.
Language is more than words—it holds our culture, history, and identity. Let’s keep our languages alive for future generations!
🌏 "Our languages, our pride!" 💙

đź“– Quote of the week!
"One man may read the Bhagavata by the light of a lamp, and another may commit a forgery by that very light; but the lamp is unaffected. The sun sheds its light on the wicked as well as on the virtuous.”

Today is the birth anniversary of Swami Brahmananda. Swami Brahmananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna and the first president of the Ramakrishna Mission, was a spiritual luminary who dedicated his life to the service of humanity. He was affectionately called "Raja Maharaj" by his brother monks and disciples, a name given by Sri Ramakrishna himself. Sri Ramakrishna saw in him the qualities of a spiritual king—deep wisdom, inner detachment, and a regal yet compassionate demeanour. Revered as the "Spiritual Son of Sri Ramakrishna," he played a pivotal role in shaping the mission's ideals of selfless service and spiritual upliftment. Under his leadership, the Ramakrishna Order expanded its humanitarian and educational activities, establishing ashramas, schools, and relief initiatives across India. A source of profound wisdom and inner strength, Swami Brahmananda emphasized meditation, devotion, and character-building as paths to self-realization. His deep spiritual insight and fatherly guidance transformed the lives of countless seekers, leaving an enduring legacy of love, discipline, and dedication to God and mankind. His life remains an inspiration, illuminating the path of selfless service and spiritual enlightenment.
