Located in Liluah, India, the school was established in 1937, and is run by the Salesians of Don Bosco S.D.B. which is a minority institution within the Catholic Church. The school operates under the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and hence the students of 10th standard take Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examinations and those of the 12th standard

take Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examinations. The school uses the house system to foster a sense of competition and belonging. The four houses are named after Salesian saints, viz. Rua (red), Savio (green), Magone (yellow) and Vecchi (blue). Most activities in the school are organized according to the houses. John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, is the patron saint of the school. The motto of the school is "Virtus et Labor". The school has been awarded the "School of the Year" award by The Telegraph Education Foundation, Kolkata, (all schools of West Bengal are a part of which) in 2007 and again in 2010.
