Grand event to mark Institution's Centenary celebration
D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur marked its centenary with grandeur and enthusiasm under the guidance of Dr. Anoop Kumar, President of the College Managing Committee, Sh. R.M. Bhalla, Secretary, and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar. On this historic occasion, Sh. Anurag Thakur, Former Minister and Member of Lok Sabha from Hamirpur, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Sh. Inderpal Singh Dhanna, Chief Information Commissioner, Govt. of Punjab, joined as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries were formally welcomed by the Managing Committee and staff before inaugurating the Centenary Block. Distinguished guests included Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, Vice Chairperson of the Indian Red Cross Society and Former Rajya Sabha Member, along with Shri Tikshan Sood, Former Minister in the Punjab Government.
The programme in the college auditorium began with a welcome address by Dr. Anoop Kumar, followed by the screening of a documentary highlighting the institution’s journey and achievements. In their addresses, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour lauded the college’s century‑long contribution to education.
Cultural performances of group songs, solo presentations, Gidha, and Bhangra added vibrancy to the celebration. A special highlight was the release of the centenary issue of the college magazine 'Arya Kumar'. Celebration of World Environment Day 2026

College Observes World Environment Day 2026
DAV College, under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar and the Institution’s Innovation Council, celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 with enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty, and staff. The programme aimed to foster environmental awareness and sustainable practices. Prof. Vinay Kumar inspired students to adopt eco‑friendly habits, while Ms. Sonam Bhatia emphasized collective responsibility in conserving natural resources. Activities included a tree plantation drive, awareness campaigns, and discussions on pressing environmental issues. Students pledged to protect biodiversity and reduce pollution. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Reena Sahota, reaffirming commitment to sustainability. College Managing Committee President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla congratulated the organizing team for the successful programme.

Weekly Handholding Session on YUKTI Innovation Repositories
An Online Weekly Handholding Session on “Building YUKTI Innovation Repositories in IIC Institutions” was conducted on 13th May 2026 under the guidance of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in association with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC). The session focused on strengthening institutional innovation and start‑up ecosystems through effective use of the YUKTI Innovation Repository platform. Dr. Kuldip Kaur (IPR Activity Coordinator) and Ms. Bulbul Sharma (Coordinator, YUKTI) from DAV College’s IIC attended the programme. The expert explained the importance of documenting innovative ideas, prototypes, start‑ups, and research projects, while guiding participants on registration, submission, and opportunities for funding, mentorship, and incubation support. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, along with IIC President Dr. Versha Mohindra, appreciated the initiative, highlighting its role in promoting innovation culture and motivating faculty towards entrepreneurship and organized innovation management.
