CAREER COUNSELLING AT GOVT. SR. SEC. SCHOOL CHAUHAL
Under the aegis of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, and under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar, a special lecture was conducted at GOVT. SR. SEC. SCHOOL CHAUHAL on “The Prospective of Future.” The programme aimed to guide students in shaping their outlook. The session was jointly delivered by Dr. Pankaj Sharma and Ms. Anjali Jolly from DAV College, Hoshiarpur, who emphasised the importance of developing skills and aptitude alongside academic learning. The speakers highlighted diverse situations and pathways for students, encouraging them to align their strengths accordingly. A total of 23 students from various streams of the 12th standard actively participated in the event. The programme was convened by Dr. Pankaj Sharma, ARIIA Coordinator, who underscored the relevance of such initiatives in preparing students for future challenges. At the conclusion of the lecture, the incharge of the host school extended heartfelt thanks to the speakers for their insightful guidance. The initiative, appreciated by IIC President Dr. Versha Mohindra, successfully inspired students to explore their potential and prepare for upcoming opportunities.

A Seven-Day Faculty Development Programme on Rejuvenating Teaching Skills -3.0 Concludes Successfully
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DAV College, Hoshiarpur successfully organised a seven-day Faculty Development Programme on the theme “Rejuvenating Teaching Skills-3.0’. Under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar and convened by IQAC Coordinator, Associate Professor and Convenor of FDP, Ms. Tracy Kohli, the programme aimed to enhance teachers’ skills by updating them on the latest developments and trends in their respective fields.
The sessions featured insightful lectures by resource persons: Niharika Maggu and Kanika Nanda on ‘Simplifying Personal Banking and Wealth Creation,’ Assistant Professor Dr. Harjeet on ‘Mother Tongue: A Priceless Treasure,’ Associate Professor Ms. Tracy Kohli on ‘Unlocking the Power of Silent Communication,’ Assistant Professor Dr. Deepak on ‘Impacts of Environmental Pollution and Teratogenesis,’ Assistant Professor Dr. Kunal Mehta on ‘Indian Knowledge Systems Based on Epics,’ and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar on ‘Indigenous Literature’.
Appreciating IQAC’s efforts, the Principal remarked, “There is no age limit for learning. One never knows when and where knowledge will be required in life. An educated mind is always ready to learn.” Ms. Tracy Kohli expressed gratitude to all speakers and participants, reaffirming IQAC’s commitment to continue such initiatives for institutional growth. FDP organising Secretary Dr. Sonu Sharma conducted the stage proceedings with excellence, emphasising that learning is a lifelong process. At the conclusion, certificates of appreciation were presented to all speakers. The College Managing Committee President Dr. Anoop K*mar and Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla lauded the initiative and encouraged everyone to keep learning innovative ideas in the future.

College Toppers of B.Sc. First Semester
(Jaskirat Singh Secures First Place in Institution)
DAV College, Hoshiarpur has once again demonstrated academic excellence with the declaration of the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) first semester results conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh in December 2025. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar informed that Jaskirat Singh secured the first position with an impressive SGPA of 8.54. Harji Kaur Virk attained the second position with 8.21 SGPA, while Jagvir Singh achieved the third position with 8.17 SGPA. The College Managing Committee President Dr. Anoop K*mar and Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla congratulated the meritorious students, appreciating their dedication and hard work.

An Interactive Session on Pathways to a Bright Future
An Interactive Session on “Pathways to a Bright Future” was organized on May 15, 2026 under the aegis of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with Career Guidance and Counselling Cell for the students of D.A.V. Collegiate Senior Secondary School. The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar, Principal of the college. Career guidance plays a significant role in helping students recognize their talents, interests, and future prospects. It enables them to make informed career decisions, build essential skills, and develop confidence for achieving success in life. The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Anu Saini. The keynote lecture was delivered by Mr. Anil K*mar, Associate Professor in Department of History, who highlighted the importance of selecting a career in accordance with one’s aptitude, interests, and capabilities. He also provided valuable insights into higher education opportunities, diverse career paths, and the importance of strategic planning for a successful future. His inspiring talk encouraged students to set clear objectives and work diligently towards their goals. Mr. Hitesh K*mar, Convener of Career Guidance and Counselling Cell also addressed the students and emphasized that in today’s highly competitive world, students have a wide range of career opportunities in fields like medicine, engineering, business, education, arts, technology, and sports. He stated that without proper guidance, many students often feel confused or choose careers due to social or family pressure. He highlighted that career counselling plays a vital role by offering expert advice, personality evaluation, and information about educational qualifications and employment opportunities. Dr. Rajni Bala, Assistant Professor in Department of Political Science motivated students to identify their strengths, set goals and move confidently towards a successful career path. IIC Convenor and Head, Department of Economics Dr. Versha Mohindra appreciated and promoted the significance of organizing such informative sessions for students. More than 40 students attended the session enthusiastically, making the programme highly interactive, lively, and meaningful. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Digvijay Singh.

Final Day of FDP focused on Indigenous Literature
The concluding day of the Seven-Day Faculty Development Programme on the theme “Rejuvenating Teaching Skills- 3”, organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, featured an enlightening lecture by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar on ‘Indigenous Literature’. In his comprehensive lecture, the Resource Person traced the evolution of Indian literary traditions across ages, covering Vedic literature, the Upanishadic period, Pauranic literature, the mediaeval era, modern age, and contemporary writings corresponding to Indian history. He emphasised the richness of indigenous thought and its enduring relevance in shaping cultural identity and intellectual discourse.
The session was chaired by Associate Professor, Sh. Jugal Kishore, HoD, Commerce, who lauded the presentation and highlighted the importance of constantly upgrading knowledge across diverse fields. The chairperson extended his compliments, appreciating the depth and relevance of the lecture.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Mrs. Tracy Kohli, IQAC Coordinator and Convenor of FDP. The stage was conducted efficiently by organising secretary, Dr. Sonu Sharma. Online Orientation Session attended by Members of IIC
The Central NISP Implementation Team at Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC-MIC), in collaboration with All India Council for Technical Education Innovation Centers, conductes an online session to support Higher Education Institutions (HEls) in adopting the provisions of National Innovation and Start-up Policy (NISP) and in developing effective Intellectual Property (IP) policy frameworks for institutional implementation in alignment with various initiatives under the IIC framework. An online orientation session was organized on May 12, 2026. The programme was attended by Dr. Anu Saini, Dr. Digvijay Singh, Ms. Raj K*m Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Kuldip Kaur and Dr. Bulbul Sharma of the Institution’s Innovation Council of DAV College. The session provided in-depth insights into policy frameworks, Implementation strategies, and best practices related to institutional innovation and start-up policies. Dr. Dipan Sahu, National Coordinator, MoE’s Innovation Cell, shared useful insights on:

Extension Lecture on ‘The Powers of Mind, Swami Vivekananda’s Message to Youth’
Under the aegis of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, and the supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar, a special lecture was conducted at Delhi International Public School, Chabbewal, Hoshiarpur on ‘The Powers of Mind, Swami Vivekananda’s Message to Youth’. The programme aimed to guide students in shaping their academic and professional
journeys. The lecture was jointly delivered by Dr. Pankaj Sharma and Mr. Anil K*mar from DAV College, Hoshiarpur, who emphasised the importance of developing aptitude and self-control alongside academic learning. The speakers highlighted diverse situations and pathways for students and encouraged them to align their strengths accordingly.
A total of 118 students from various streams of Senior Secondary classes actively participated in the event. Giving his remarks, Principal of the host school, extended heartfelt thanks to the speakers for their insightful guidance. The initiative, appreciated by IIC President Dr. Versha Mohindra, successfully inspired students to explore their potential and prepare for future opportunities.

Celebration of National Technology Day
Under the patronage of DAV College Management Committee President Dr. Anoop K*mar and Secretary Sh. R. M. Bhalla, and the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar, National Technology Day was celebrated under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). In his address, Principal Sir motivated the students to develop scientific temperament, technical skills, and innovative thinking. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged students to actively participate in such academic and technological activities for their overall development. The event was coordinated by Internship Activity Coordinator Dr. Jaswinder Singh and activity member Ms. Reena Sahota under the leadership of IIC President Dr. Versha Mohindra and Convener Sh. Sanjeev Ghai.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh delivered a brief lecture highlighting the importance of National Technology Day and emphasized the significant role of technology in the development of the nation. He motivated the students to remain updated with emerging technologies and encouraged them to contribute towards innovation and research for a technologically advanced India.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the celebration successful.

Refurbished College Cafeteria Inaugurated
DAV College, Hoshiarpur, inaugurated its newly refurbished cafeteria, marking a significant step towards enhancing student facilities and campus life. The inauguration was carried out by Dr. Anoop K*mar, President of the DAV College Managing Committee, Hoshiarpur. Prof. (Dr.) Vinay K*mar, Principal of DAV College, emphasised that the institution has always prioritised the welfare of students, ensuring their holistic development in terms of personality and health. He added that the refurbishment of the canteen was part of this ongoing commitment. Sh. R. M. Bhalla, Secretary of the Managing Committee, extended congratulations to students and staff, reaffirming the Committee’s dedication to student welfare. The College Students’ Association expressed gratitude to the Managing Committee and the Principal for their efforts in upgrading the facility.
