Hooghly Collegiate School

Hooghly Collegiate School Since 1812 with a group of courageous students to 2012, this academic milestone has shown people the Though all the records are misplaced and abolished.

Under the knowledgeable guidance of a few educated people, the school first started without having a proper accommodation in 1812 with a group of courageous pupil. So many problems and distraction struck on them but they never gave in. In early 1817, the school first recognized as a small school attached to the Imambarah by fisher’s memoir. Earlier the school was in the academic control of Hooghly

Collage (Today’s Hooghly Mohoshin Collage). The oldest of undivided Bengal was a part of Hooghly College at that time. At that the school shifted its academic work to “Bhudeb Bhaban” , “First floor of Hooghly Madrasah and finally to the permanent building beside the long range off Ganga. In 1826, when there were no proper curriculums, exact educational tools even no universities to guide the teaching process, the group of knowledge lover made an effort to acknowledge to emerging academic nature of the school. That time there were 83 Student from mixed cutler and cast. Out of them 16 used to study Arabic, seven were taught Farsi and rest 60 students used to study in English. বর্তমান পরিস্হিতিতে মহামারী করোনার আবহে হুগলী কলেজিয়েট স্কুলের মাস্টারমশাইদের উদ্যোগে ঘরে বসে ক্লাসের বিশেষ ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে। স্কুলের ছাত্রদের অনুরোধ করা হচ্ছে তারা যদি এই ক্লাসে অংশগ্রহণ করতে চায়, তাহলে যেন তাদের নাম, ক্লাস, সেকশন, রোল লিখে হোয়াটস আপে নিম্নলিখিত নির্দিষ্ট বিষয়ের শিক্ষক মহাশয়ের হোয়াটস আপ নম্বরে যোগাযোগ করে। তাঁরাই ওই App এর সাহায্যে ক্লাস নেবেন।

AN APPEAL FOR HELP TO SAVE AVIRUP
Avirup Maji, a student of Chandernagore College, Department of English, has been detected with the deadly disease cancer (Pre B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), since 2018. He had undergone chemotherapy at the TATA Medical Center, Kolkata, and the physicians, at that time had assured that he could be completely cured through proper medical treatment. But recently, the physicians noticed that the cancer cells have relapsed and increased. The doctors now suggest a bone-marrow transplant, in order to save Avirup from the acute problem he is currently facing. His MR no is MR/18/004084.The name of his authorizing physician is Dr Reena Nair. The medical centre has advised chemotherapy, along with Allogenic Stem cell Transplant, and the total estimated expenditure is around 40 Lakh Indian Rupees.
Given the present situation, Avirup’s family is finding it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to bear the cost of the treatment. If some kind-hearted soul would find it convenient to help Avirup and his family, they would be highly obliged and benefitted.
