*A divine day at Preparatory*
Varamahalakshmi Festival was celebrated with devotion and grandeur in the Preparatory Section.

The celebration began with a sacred *Pooja ceremony*. The little ones were dressed as *Ashta Lakshmi* – Aadi Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Veera Lakshmi, Vijaya Lakshmi and Vidya Lakshmi – and they stole the show with their divine attire and confident presentation. Soulful prayer song and Shlokas chanted by the children. Teacher explained the significance of Varamahalakshmi Vratha and Goddess Lakshmi – the goddess of wealth, wisdom and prosperity.
Little Ashta Lakshmis presented themselves gracefully.
Holy prasadam was distributed to all children.

The celebration created a spiritual ambience and helped children understand our rich culture and tradition. It was indeed a blessed and joyful learning experience.

🇮🇳 Celebrating the 80th Independence Day at Vidya Soudha Public School! 🇮🇳

With immense pride and patriotic spirit, Vidya Soudha Public School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on 15th August 2026 at the School Auditorium.
The celebration was graced by esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Kalleshappa C. H., Ex-Serviceman, Indian Army (HC/GD), whose presence added great pride and inspiration to the occasion.

The programme was a beautiful celebration of freedom, unity, patriotism and the spirit of India. The unfurling of the National Flag, patriotic performances and inspiring moments reminded us of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the responsibilities we carry as citizens of our great nation.

Let us continue to nurture the values of unity, integrity, discipline and love for our motherland in the hearts of our young generation.

A mental health and life skills programme was organised in our campus in coordination with the District Administration, District Health and Family Welfare, and District Mental Health Program Division, Hassan.

In the first session, Dr. Karthik J, a psychiatrist, outlined effective study habits and mental well-being strategies. He propagated that success relies on creating a structured timetable, using active learning techniques like Cornell notes and mind mapping, and avoiding last-minute cramming. He noted that maintaining physical health through balanced nutrition, hydration, and exercise, alongside staying positive and managing stress, supports optimal brain function and performance in examinations.

Mr. Ravindra K.P., a psychiatrist and social worker, instilled emotional strength and problem-solving skills by fostering self-awareness among students. He also highlighted positive social skills that help lower anxiety. Mrs. Bhagya, a psychologist, explained the issues of mental disorders among students.
The core goals of the programme were to build resilience, emotional and stress management, self-awareness, social skills, and decision-making skills by focusing on the challenges of adult life.

*Blue Day Celebration – Preparatory Section.
Blue Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Preparatory Section to introduce children to the color blue and its significance.

All children and teachers came dressed in different shades of blue.The classroom was decorated with blue balloons, charts, and objects.
Children dressed as blue things, also brought blue objects and spoke 2 lines about them.
Blue handprint, cloud and fish crafts are done in classrooms.
_“B L U E spells Blue”_ rhyme and action songs made the day rhythmic.
Children clicked happy snaps in the blue-themed corner.

The celebration helped children identify the color blue in nature like sky, sea, and enhanced their vocabulary. It was a fun-filled and colorful learning experience.

JAL HOUSE ACTIVITIES – English-Based Skit Presentations(G1-G4)
As part of the Jal House Activities, students of grade 1 to 4 showcased a series of engaging English-based skits that combined learning with creativity and confidence. The performances covered important language concepts, including Nouns, Articles, Punctuation, Conversation Skills, and the classic moral story "The Ant and the Grasshopper."
Through expressive acting, clear dialogue delivery, and excellent teamwork, the students transformed classroom concepts into meaningful stage performances. Each skit was thoughtfully presented with appropriate costumes, creative props, and confident expressions, making the learning process enjoyable and interactive. The performances not only strengthened the students' understanding of English grammar and communication skills but also enhanced their confidence, stage presence, and collaboration.

Our Preparatory students celebrated *Friendship Day* with lots of love!

Children tied *Handmade Friendship Bands* – with love. Classroom was filled with hugs and smiles. Little ones enthusiastically recited *Friendship Slogans* – _Friends are forever, Sharing is caring_ . Children happily sang *friendship songs* with buddies and danced together.

As a part of our CCA, a Craft Work Activity was conducted for students of Grades 1 to 4 to encourage creativity, imagination, and hands-on learning. The young learners joyfully participated in the activity, creating beautiful and colourful craft models with great interest.

Roars for tigers:
International Tiger Day was celebrated with great excitement in the Preparatory Section to spread awareness about tiger conservation and to develop love for wildlife in young children.

Children watched a colorful PPT about tigers, their habitat, food, and why we need to protect them. Cute cubs enthusiastically sang a *Tiger Poem* with actions. They enacted a fun story on _"How Tigers Got Their Black Stripes"_ and participated actively in quiz session.

Our Class 8 students enthusiastically participated in the Inter-House Debate Competition and General Knowledge Quiz(CCA), showcasing their confidence, critical thinking, and teamwork.
The debate on the topic “Are extracurricular activities more important than academics?” witnessed powerful arguments, thoughtful perspectives, and impressive communication skills from all houses – Agni, Jal, Akash, and Pruthvi.
The GK Quiz that followed was equally exciting, testing students’ awareness, presence of mind, and team coordination. The energy, spirit, and healthy competition among the houses made the event truly memorable.
