Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan Since 2007, it is an autonomous institution under VTU Belagavi. The college conducts 9 B.E. programs, 5 M.Tech Programs and MCA program.

Malnad College of Engineering (MCE), Hassan, established in 1960-61, under Malnad Technical Education Society (R), the first such college to be established in the Malnad region. Malnad College of Engineering (MCE), Hassan, established in the year 1960-61, under the auspices of the Malnad Technical Education Society, Hassan, was the first college to be established in the Malnad region of Karnatak

a state. The college established in the latter part of the Third Five Year Plan, as a joint venture of the Government of India, Government of Karnataka and Malnad Technical Education Society, Hassan. It was affiliated to the university of Mysore, until 1997-98 and at present is an autonomous institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
