The first Centre for Baltic Culture and Studies (CBCS) of Asia was recently inaugurated on 07 August 2016 at the premises of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya. Krishna Kant Paul, Governor of Uttarakhand State and Dr. Pranav Pandya, Chancellor of Dev

Sanskriti University (DSVV) graced the event and inaugurated the CBCS. The Centre for Baltic Culture and Studies (CBCS) stands as a hub for cooperation between the Baltic Nations and India through various proposed areas of work such as generating learning resources as a part of which DSVV proposes to house 2-3 research scholars from all the Baltic countries each, to generate joint learning resources. In this regard,

The CBCS also plans to offer scholarships to regular or gap year students from the Baltic Nations, who would wish to contribute their time, skills and expertise for furthering the work on development of joint learning resources at DSVV. These scholarships shall be offered through Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya Research Foundation bearing the same name. The scope of collaboration can be extended to Teachers or Scholars from the Baltic Nations for teaching their native languages to our students. DSVV also invites initiatives from its partner institutions in other areas such as Animation, Communication, Environmental Sciences, and Psychology etc. The CBCS is also introducing the first International Journal of Indo-Baltic Culture and Studies http://www.dsvv.ac.in/ibj/call-for-papers/ for scholars and laureates to contribute their original works in the area of Indo-Baltic Relationship. CBCS also welcomes joint research projects, organization of joint conferences/ seminars/ workshops etc., training of students or teachers through short-term modular, and long-term programmes in the areas of mutual interest, and organization of mass awareness events such as peace march, exhibitions, competitions, cultural performances etc., to spread awareness and allow the general public to understand and witness the commonalities shared by our two great civilizations; i.e., the Indians and the Balts.
