HAPS Junior Boarders Step into Nature’s Classroom
Him Academy Public School, Vikas Nagar organised a Nature Diary – Outdoor Learning Activity for junior boarders of Grades IV to VIII, providing students with an opportunity to learn through direct observation and exploration of nature.
The early-morning activity included bird watching, insect observation and tree identification. Accompanied by hostel parents, teachers and Science faculty, students listened to different bird calls, observed insects and studied trees and plants in their natural surroundings.
Teachers guided them in identifying species and recording their observations for their Nature Diaries.
Vice Principal Mr. Ashwani Sharma also joined the students during the nature walk and encouraged them to develop curiosity and observation skills.
Students collected suitable natural specimens and observations for further study. Back at the hostel, they visited the IT Tab Lab, where they used digital resources to research the birds, insects and trees they had encountered and added relevant information to their Nature Diaries.
HAPS Director Er. Pankaj Lakhanpal said that the school is planning more outdoor and experiential learning projects for boarders, enabling students to connect classroom concepts with the world around them.
Principal Academics Dr. Himanshu Sharma appreciated the initiative and the efforts of the teachers and hostel team, observing that such activities help nurture scientific curiosity, environmental awareness and independent learning among young students.
