Shiva, the Adiyogi, represents both destruction and creation, the endless cycle of the universe. In science, we see the same rhythm—matter collapsing to give birth to something new, stars dying to create galaxies, and energy constantly transforming.
At CERN, the world’s largest particle physics laboratory, the statue of Nataraja, the cosmic dancer, stands as a tribute to this eternal motion. Just as Shiva’s dance represents the dynamic flow of the cosmos, particle physics seeks to understand the very fabric of reality.
On this Mahashivratri, let us embrace the vastness of the universe, the dance of energy, and the power of transformation within us. Science and spirituality are two sides of the same truth—both seeking the mysteries of existence.

"I run at 4 A.M. because I know my opponent is still asleep. It gives me an edge," said Mike Tyson when asked about his early morning training routine. Tyson went on to say, "If I find out my opponent runs at 4 A.M., I'll start running at 2 A.M. And if someone trains at 2 A.M., I'll stop sleeping altogether to keep training."
"Without discipline, no matter how talented you are, you’re nothing." – Mike Tyson

In an inspiring moment, Lt Gen DP Singh, SM, was pipped by his two daughters, both serving officers in the Indian Army, upon his promotion and appointment as the Commandant of the Military Intelligence Training School & Depot (MINTSD), Pune. This beautifully showcases the strength, dedication, and legacy carried forward by women in uniform. What a proud moment for both father and daughters!

Congratulations to AgniKul Cosmos on the successful completion of their first flight - Mission 01 of Agnibaan SOrTeD!
This historic launch took place from India’s first and only private launchpad within SDSC-SHAR at Sriharikota. All mission objectives were achieved, showcasing flawless performance in this controlled vertical ascent flight. The vehicle was entirely designed in-house by the AgniKul Cosmos team and powered by the world’s first single-piece 3D printed engine. This mission also marks India’s first flight with a semi-cryo engine. This is a shining example of the power of "Make in India".

Did you know? Astrophysicist and Nobel laureate Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar used to travel 80 kilometers every week from the Yerkes Observatory to the University of Chicago, where he taught a course attended by only two students. When asked why, he simply said they were excellent students. Fast forward to 1957, both students, Lee Tsung-Dao and Yang Chen-Ning, received Nobel Prizes in Physics! The course taught by Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar became the only course in history where all its attendees received a Nobel Prize. Dedication truly pays off.

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of British physicist Peter Higgs. Known for his groundbreaking prediction of the Higgs boson in 1964—a particle integral to our understanding of the universe—his work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2013. It took nearly 50 years and experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN to confirm the existence of this particle, ultimately validating Higgs' theory. He was much more than a renowned scientist; he was a great teacher and mentor, inspiring generations of young scientists with his modesty. Rest in peace.
