World TB Day Celebration by Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College Haldwani, Uttarakhand

The Department of Community Medicine at Government Medical College Haldwani, Uttarakhand, organized a grand celebration on World TB Day, which is observed annually on March 24th. The event aimed to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB), promote prevention and treatment strategies, and highlight the importance of collaborative efforts in eradicating this global health challenge.

Activities and Highlights:

Awareness Campaign: The department initiated an extensive awareness campaign throughout the college premises and surrounding areas. They set up informational booths, distributed pamphlets, and engaged in interactive discussions to educate students, faculty, and the local community about TB prevention, early symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options.

Expert Talks: Eminent healthcare professionals and specialists were invited to deliver informative talks on various aspects of tuberculosis. They discussed topics such as TB epidemiology, risk factors, diagnostic techniques, treatment protocols, and the importance of adherence to medication. The talks provided valuable insights into the disease, dispelled myths, and emphasized the significance of early detection.

Poster and Slogan Competitions: The department organized poster and slogan competitions among medical students to encourage creative expression and reinforce the key messages of TB awareness. Participants showcased their artistic skills and knowledge through visually appealing posters and impactful slogans, focusing on raising awareness and motivating individuals to take action against TB.

Collaborative Efforts: The Department of Community Medicine collaborated with various stakeholders, including local health authorities, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders, to strengthen the fight against TB. These partnerships fostered cooperation and coordinated efforts to ensure effective prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of TB in the region.

The World TB Day celebration organized by the Department of Community Medicine at Government Medical College Haldwani, Uttarakhand, successfully raised awareness about tuberculosis and its impact on public health. Through informative talks, interactive sessions, creative competitions, and a free screening camp, the event played a pivotal role in educating and empowering individuals to actively combat TB. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sadhana Awasthi ma'am, Head of Department, and with the facilitation of Honourable Principal sir, the contributions of faculty members, postgraduate students (PGs), and departmental members played a vital role in the success of the World TB Day celebration. Their dedication, expertise, and collaborative efforts showcased the department's commitment to addressing public health challenges and making a positive impact in the community.

The Pantheon School invited us to organise a school health camp for their students.
Around 200 students of nursery up till class VIII attended the camp accompanied by their parents.
We like to thank the school committees, the teachers and the staff for their dedication and hard work during the camp.

आज विश्व पृथ्वी दिवस के अवसर पर कम्यूनिटी मेडिसन द्वारा एक C.M.E. की गयी जिसमें मुख्य वक्ता फॉरेस्ट रिसर्च सेंटर के रेंजर श्रीमान बिष्ट जी थे उक्त cme प्राचार्य डॉ अरुण जोशी सर एवं अन्य चिकित्सक,एमबीबीएस के छात्र छात्राएं उपस्थित थे cme के पश्चात FRC के रेंजर मदन बिष्ट, कम्यूनिटी मेडिसन के विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ साधना अवस्थी, डॉ हेमा,डॉ हरप्रीत डॉ क्षितिज,डॉ नजमुल,डॉ हेम,डॉ प्रीति,डॉ रूपाली,डॉ कुनाल,डॉ कनक,डॉ ऋषि, हेम तिवारी,हरीश पांडे एवं एमबीबीएस के छात्र छात्राओं द्वारा मेडिकल कॉलेज कैम्पस में वृक्षा रोपण किया गया

On this occasion, the dept of Community Medicine, GMC Haldwani organised poster competition, Rangoli competition, PPT presentations on various aspects of World heath day theme.

On the occasion of World TB Day, 2022, we were invited to present a health talk at CRPF group center Kathgodam.
Dr. Ksh*tiz choudhary and Dr. Gaihemlung Pamei represented the dept. and Health talk was delivered by Dr k Choudhary which was attended by the officers and jawans of CRPF along with their family.
