The 2001 Indian Parliament attack was a terrorist attack on the Parliament of India in New Delhi, India, on December 13, 2001. The perpetrators belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), two Pakistan-raised terrorist organizations. The attack led to the deaths of six Delhi Police personnel, two Parliament Security Service personnel, and a gardener a total of nine, and led to increased tensions between India and Pakistan, resulting in the 2001–02 India–Pakistan standoff. The 5 terrorists were killed outside the parliament.

It is observed on December 9 each year. Musicals, plays, keynote speeches and other activities that focus on the theme of fighting against corruption help promote International Anti-Corruption Day. The Assembly also designated 9th December as International Anti-Corruption Day, to raise awareness of corruption and the Convention's role in combating and preventing it. There cannot be a nobler cause than laying down one's life for the country. The Armed Forces Flag Day or the Flag Day of India is a day dedicated to honouring the soldiers and veterans of India's armed forces. It has been observed annually in India on December 7 since 1949

Uttarakhand is famous as the Land of the Gods or “Dev Bhumi”. During the time of its foundation, it was named Uttaranchal.
In 2007, the name of the state was formally altered from Uttaranchal to Uttarakhand.
Students delivered speech and participate in various cultural programs. These exercises on the occasion of Uttarakhand Foundation Day was intended to imprint students minds with the rich history of Uttarakhand and its foundation.
