The Department of Civil Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology, celebrated Engineers’ Day on 15 September 2026 at 5:30 PM at the Ground Floor of the Civil Engineering Department, commemorating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of India’s most eminent engineers.

The celebration was inaugurated by Dr. Sumanta Raksh*t, Head of the Department, in the presence of the faculty members and students. All the departmental faculty members and staffs paid tribute to the remarkable contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and highlighted the importance of engineering in shaping society and the environment.

The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the values that guide the engineering profession and inspired students to carry forward the legacy of excellence and service.

श्री कृष्णाय वासुदेवाय हरये परमात्मने । प्रणतक्लेश नाशाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः |

Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the divine birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Bhadrapada month.

He was born in Mathura to Devaki and Vasudeva. The cruel king Kansa was afraid of a prophecy that Devaki’s eighth child would defeat him, so he kept them in prison. After Krishna was born, his father Vasudeva took him to Gokul, where Yashoda and Nanda raised him. Later, Krishna defeated Kansa and saved the people of Mathura.

Janmashtami teaches us that virtue always wins over evil. People celebrate the festival with fasting, singing, dancing, bhajans and decorating the temple. Krishna teaches us the lesson of love, devotion, faith and truth.

May Lord Krishna's divine blessings bring peace, joy and prosperity to your life. Wishing you a very happy

MSE walls use reinforced soil with metallic or geosynthetic layers, making them economical for higher walls. Cantilever walls are reinforced concrete walls with a stem and base slab. Both the walls provide stability but differ in cost, construction and drainage.
