Mushroom Training Programme at Sutahata Block
A Mushroom Training Programme was successfully organised at Sutahata Block through the collaborative initiative of Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya and the Sutahata Block. The programme aimed to create awareness and provide hands-on training on mushroom cultivation as a means of self-employment and sustainable livelihood generation among local villagers.
The programme was enriched by the presense of the IQAC Coordinator - Dr. Atanu Jana, Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya. The event was also graced by the presence of Dr. Soumya Saha- Bursar of the college. Mr. Pranab Kumar Jana ,Programme Officer of NSS Unit IV, presented the programme along with the NSS volunteers.
The technical training sessions were conducted by Ms. Sita Giri- Trainer from the Department of Botany, and Mr. Chiranjit Das,programme officer of NSS unit –I, Trainer who provided detailed demonstrations on mushroom cultivation techniques, harvesting, and marketing possibilities. Their sessions were informative and highly beneficial for the participants.
The programme was further enriched by the presence of Dr. Tanumoy Mondal, Department of Agriculture devlopment Officer of Sutahata Block, along with other officials from the agriculture department.
The programme was presided over by Mr. Ashok Mishra- President of Sutahata Block, who encouraged the villagers to adopt mushroom cultivation as an alternative income source and emphasized the importance of skill-based training for rural development.
Active participation was observed from NSS volunteers, notably Mr. Abani Sankar Jana and Mr. Suvrangsu Mondal of Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya, who assisted in coordination and interaction with the villagers. 42 number of local villagers attended the training and showed keen interest in learning mushroom cultivation techniques.
The programme concluded with an interactive session where participants shared their queries and experiences. Overall, the Mushroom Training Programme was highly successful and contributed effectively to community engagement, skill development, and awareness about sustainable agricultural practices.
