St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Diyungbra, Dima Hasao proudly observed National Sports Day today, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary “Wizard of Indian Hockey,” Major Dhyan Chand. 🏑🇮🇳

The programme began with a special morning assembly, where students and teachers together took the pledge to promote fitness, teamwork, and the true spirit of sports. This was followed by warm-up exercises and sporting activities that emphasized the value of discipline and healthy living.

A friendly Kabaddi match between students and teachers brought excitement and joy, creating unforgettable moments.

To mark the occasion further, an Inter-House Debate Competition was organized, where participants showcased their eloquence and confidence. Yellow House emerged as the champion, with Green House securing the second position. 🏆

All these events took place in the gracious presence of our Principal Fr. William Pinto, Headmistress Sr. Ainaline Lyngdoh, Brother, and the dedicated teachers, whose encouragement made the celebration even more meaningful.
The day was a wonderful celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and inspiration—truly reflecting the essence of National Sports Day.

Today, Our students of St. St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Diyungbra, Dima Hasao , together with our Principal Rev. Fr. William Pinto and teachers, had the honour of attending a Drug Abuse Awareness Programme organised by Dima Jalai Hosom (DJH), Diyungbra Branch and Dang Jalai Welfare Society (DJWS) in collaboration with Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), Diyungbra Branch.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. Ronald Bathari, Senior Medical Officer, Haflong Civil Hospital (Anaesthesiologist, Intensivist & Pain Specialist), who enlightened the gathering with his insightful address on the challenges of drug abuse and the collective responsibility of society to overcome it.

This meaningful programme was further graced by the distinguished presence of:
• Smti. Rupali Langthasa , Hon’ble MAC, DHAC, whose guidance and words of encouragement greatly enriched the occasion.

🇮🇳 79th Independence Day Celebration – St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Diyungbra, Dima Hasao 🇮🇳
With hearts brimming with pride and gratitude for our nation, St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Diyungbra joyfully celebrated the 79th Independence Day 2025 in a spirit of unity, patriotism, and reverence.

We were deeply honoured by the gracious presence of our Chief Guest, Shri Promud Jidung Ji, President of Gaonburas of Diyungbra, and our Guest of Honour, Shri Kadhar Daulagupu, Former President of Diyungbra Mandal. The occasion was further graced by OC Sir Tridip Lahonh (Diyungmukh Police Station), Shri Sorjulal Kemprai, Shri Joykumar, esteemed members of the Parents’ Body, and Shri Ashok Koire, whose presence added distinction to this memorable day.

The programme commenced with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, March Past, and Shaheedon Ko Salaam – a solemn tribute to our brave martyrs. This was followed by an array of cultural presentations and competitions that celebrated the essence of patriotism:

After the successful conclusion and dismantling of the stage arrangements, the celebration continued with a friendly basketball match between teachers and students, adding a joyful and sporting spirit to the day.

Today was a day of joy, gratitude, and pride for the St. Xavier’s family as we had the distinguished honour of welcoming Rev. Fr. Valerian Castelino SJ, Regional Superior of the Kohima Region. His visit commenced with a grace-filled morning assembly, where our school community gathered in unity to extend him a heartfelt welcome.
The occasion was further enriched by the felicitation of the winners of the recent Science Exhibition, held in the esteemed presence of our Principal, Rev. Fr. William Pinto , Headmistress, Sr. Ainaline Lyngdoh, our dedicated faculty, and our spirited students.
