Living in the interior and often isolated regions of Assam, access to opportunities and exposure is one of our school’s biggest challenges and responsibilities. We believe our children deserve to see a world far bigger than their surroundings. 🌍✨

Over the years, we have introduced them to drama, dance, photography, writing, art, sports, and music. And now, we’ve added something magical to that list, star gazing. 🌌

With the generous support of a thoughtful friend, we received a telescope and conducted our very first night of sky observation. Our children were absolutely enthralled — seeing the Sun and Moon up close, witnessing the recent lunar eclipse, spotting Jupiter with its bands and moons, and identifying constellations and stars for the first time.

For many of them, it was the first time they truly looked at the sky, not just as something distant, but as something they could explore.

We are deeply grateful to the friends who believed in our school’s work and made this possible, and a special thanks to Bhavan from Starvoirs for guiding and inspiring our young astronomers.

The universe feels a little closer now and our children are excited to keep exploring it. 🚀🌙

We were deeply honoured to have Mr. Joseph Gomes, a leading force behind Furtados Music, support the inauguration of our new Music Lab this December. 🎶

He was planning to visit Mualdam and our school this week, though he couldn’t join us in person due to unforeseen circumstances, he graciously made time to be with us virtually via Google Meet. The program we had lovingly prepared for him went ahead as planned — and our teachers and students poured their hearts into every note, offering a glimpse of the beautiful possibilities this Music Lab holds for the future.

It was a fun and inspiring interaction. We are truly grateful for Mr. Gomes’ generous support, encouraging words, and warm presence. Here’s to music being created, celebrated, and “cooked” in our new lab for years to come! 🎵✨

In this video, our beloved student Gracilla Ngamlai shares her powerful experience of walking nearly 15 km for 5–6 hours from Mualdam to Harangajao, where she will stay in a rented accommodation along with the Principal and other students during the exam period.

This story is not just about her — it represents all students from remote schools who travel long distances and stay away from their families to appear for their board exams.

We are incredibly proud of Gracilla and her friends for making history as the first batch of Class 10 students from Haite Memorial Friendship School. May their journey inspire many more to dream big and never give up.

What began as a small event last year is now turning into a beautiful tradition at Haite Memorial Friendship School ✨

This year’s Christmas Carnival was extra special, a joyful celebration of togetherness, the inauguration of our new Music Lab 🎶, and Sunbird Trust’s 11th anniversary 🎉.

With stalls run by our students, parents, and teachers filled with food, games, and activities, the campus came alive with excitement. Weeks of preparation amidst exams, breaks, and practice sessions led to a fun-filled, memorable day that truly reflected the spirit of community.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do: to create spaces where children can learn, explore, and simply enjoy being children. Here’s to many more such joyful traditions ahead 💛

🇮🇳 Happy Independence Day from HMFS! 🎉
This year’s celebration was truly unforgettable for all Haitenians. Not only did we honour our nation’s freedom, but we also inaugurated our brand-new classroom building and science lab!

We were privileged to have the Secretary of the Biate Apex Body as our Chief Guest, along with his team from Haflong, to witness this proud milestone. Weeks of dedication by our students and teachers came alive in a vibrant programme full of colour, energy, and heartfelt performances. 🥳

Parents explored the science lab, peeking through microscopes, trying out equipment, before touring our beautiful new classrooms. Their smiles and words of encouragement filled us with hope for the exciting journey ahead. ❤️

A special thank you to Mr. Jayen Shah (Mavuca Capitol Advisors Pvt Ltd) and Caring friends group for making this dream a reality. Your support is lighting the way for our children’s future.
