Hee Martam, August 17: The 15-Day Summer Academic Enrichment Course for students of Lower Bermiok Uchchatar Sanskrit Pathsala was inaugurated today with enthusiasm at the Pathsala Auditorium Hall.

The program was graced by Shri Y.K. Sharma, Hon’ble Chairman, Sikkim Milk Union, Government of Sikkim as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Shri Kinzang Dorjee Bhutia, Block Education Officer, Hee Martam BAC, Heads of nearby schools, and members of the School Management Committee.

The primary objective of the camp is to provide academic support and promote holistic development among students.

The identified Resource Persons will engage students through interactive sessions on Science, Mathematics, English, Sanskrit, Yoga, Personal Development, and Indian Knowledge System.

Addressing the students, BEO Shri Kinzang Dorjee Bhutia stressed the importance of utilizing such platforms to strengthen foundational learning and build life skills. He encouraged students to participate actively and make the best use of this Summer academic Camp.
Chief Guest Shri Y.K. Sharma lauded the initiative and encouraged students to cultivate discipline, curiosity, and pride in Indian culture and values.
The program is organised by Lower Bermiok Uchchatar Sanskrit Pathsala under the guidance of the Directorate of Language, Education Department, Government of Sikkim in collaboration with Central Sanskrit University,New Delhi.

The 15-day enrichment program will conclude on 31st August 2026

CO- ORDINATION MEETING WITH SCHOOL HEADS

A Co-ordination Meeting with School Heads of both Government and Private Schools under Hee Martam BAC was organized by the Block Education Office, Hee Martam on 7th August 2026.
The meeting aimed to review ongoing academic and administrative activities, address key issues, and formulate action plans for the remaining academic session.

In the meeting Ms. Binjya Chettri, Special Educator, highlighted the importance of the *PRASHAST App* for early identification and screening of every individual students with specific learning disabilities.
She emphasised every school teacher must register themselves on the PRASHAST portal.
Phase-I Screening of all students should be initiated immediately as per the guidelines.
Schools were instructed to submit screening reports within the stipulated timeline.

Later, Shri Kinzang Dorjee Bhutia,BEO
provided detailed support and guidance to School Heads on timely update and verification of data in EMMIS and UDISE+ portals. Common errors and ways to avoid discrepancies in student and school data.

The progress of Aadhaar enrolment and APAAR ID generation for students was reviewed in detail.
School-wise updates were discussed. Heads were directed to expedite the process for remaining students and to ensure 100% coverage, especially for students who benefitted from the recent 14-day Aadhaar Special Camp.

Mr.Lakpa Hissay Sherpa,SRG for Chief Minister Special Numeracy Programme ( CMSNP) also highlighted School Heads about the progress of students made so far under this programme. He also provided suggestions to some of the problems faced by schools to carry out CMSNP smoothly and effectively.

Academic issues and Challenges faced in syllabus completion, remedial classes, and learning outcomes were discussed. Academic action plans for the remaining session were formulated. Heads were asked to focus on regular assessments, remedial teaching.

The meeting was interactive and productive. All School Heads assured full cooperation for timely completion of PRASHAST screening, EMMIS/UDISE+ updates, and Aadhaar/APAAR work.
The BEO emphasized that coordinated efforts are essential to improve the quality of education and ensure 100% compliance with departmental directives.

SPECIAL AADHAAR CAMP FOR STUDENTS

A 14-day Special Aadhaar Camp for Students was organized by the Block Education Office, Hee Martam BAC, in collaboration with the Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre, Hee Martam BAC.

As Aadhaar is one of the mandatory documents for generating a student's Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID, the camp was primarily aimed at students from both Government and Private schools who did not possess an Aadhaar card.

The initiative focused on facilitating fresh Aadhaar enrolment for students without Aadhaar and carrying out necessary demographic and biometric updates for students and their parents wherever required. The objective was to ensure that every student has a valid Aadhaar, thereby enabling the timely generation of APAAR IDs.

The camp commenced on 15th July 2026 and was conducted over a period of 14 days, covering all 16 Government Schools and 7 Private Schools under Hee Martam BAC in a phased manner according to a pre-planned schedule. The enrolment team from the Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre visited each school, while school authorities ensured the presence of eligible students along with their parents or guardians on the scheduled dates.

A total of 136 students, along with several parents, availed themselves of the enrolment and update services during the camp. The programme received wholehearted cooperation from all School Heads, teachers, parents, and the enrolment team. Proper arrangements for seating, document verification, biometric enrolment, and record maintenance were made at every school, ensuring the smooth and efficient conduct of the camp.

The Block Education Office, Hee Martam BAC, extends its sincere gratitude to Shri Kailash Gurung, BDO, Hee Martam BAC, for approving the camp and providing the necessary administrative support for its successful implementation. Appreciation is also extended to the team from the Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre, Hee Martam BAC, all School Heads, teachers, parents, and students for their active participation and cooperation, which contributed to the overall success of this important initiative.

CHIEF MINISTER SPECIAL NUMERACY PROGRAM

Block Education Office, Hee Martam BAC organised 2 days (20 & 21 July) 4th Cluster Level Workshop under Chief Minister Special Numeracy Program for Teachers of government schools teaching Mathematics in Grades 1 & 2 in their respective schools.

During the workshop reflection of Term I Assessment of students, Dus ka Sansar, Ganit Mala clip1&2, Makai activity etc were carried out by the SRGs. The workshop also had a session where in Block Education Officer, Hee Martam BAC interacted with teachers regarding issues related to smooth and proper implementation of CMSNP in their respective schools. He noted the suggestion and directed for timely resolution. The BEO also motivated teachers to implement the strategies, techniques and pedagogical approaches learnt during the workshop to improve academic performance of students especially in mathematics.

2nd TEACHER CONFERENCE - DIET, GYALSHING.

On 15.05.2026, BEO Hee Martam BAC attended the 2nd Teacher Conference organised by DIET Gyalshing. The conference provided a platform for teachers from Soreng and Gyalshing Districts to present their Action Research in the presence of SCERT Officers, CEOs, Block Heads, and School Heads of both districts.

Mr. Kinzang D. Bhutia, AD, represented Hee Martam BAC to support our teachers.
