Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp – Day 2
The second day of the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp was conducted successfully with active participation from the students.
The programme had the presence of a Special Educator, who conducted an interactive session on real-life conversations using Indian Sign Language (ISL). Students were introduced to basic signs and expressions used in everyday communication, helping them understand the importance of inclusive communication.
In the second session, students were taught the basics of the Bhutia language. They learned common greetings, simple words, phrases, and expressions used in day-to-day conversations. The session was engaging and provided students with an opportunity to appreciate and explore the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the region.

Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp – Day 1 Report Date : 19.06.2026
The Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp commenced today with two activities which are learning ISL ( online) and Bhutia language.The programme began with an introduction to the camp, highlighting its objectives and the importance of learning and preserving Indian languages.
During the session, students were introduced to the basics of the Bhutia language, including the alphabet and number by Madam Thsering Lhamu Bhutia,GT Arts.The interactive activities generated considerable interest among the participants and encouraged them to learn a new language.
The students were also addressed by the Principal Madam, who emphasized the significance of multilingualism and motivated the students to make the best use of the opportunity provided through the camp.
For the Indian Sign Language (ISL) session, students were shown an educational video through the PM eVidya Channel No. 31 in English. The video helped create awareness about basic sign language and its importance in fostering inclusive communication.
The first day of the camp concluded successfully, with students expressing enthusiasm and eagerness to participate in the upcoming sessions.

It is indeed a proud moment for the entire school family of PM SHRI GGSSS Gyalshing as our school secured the First Position in the To***co-Free Educational Institution (ToFEI) Compliance Programme (First Phase) in Gyalshing District.
The recognition was awarded by the State ToFEI Monitoring Team in appreciation of the school's commendable performance and strict adherence to the ToFEI guidelines aimed at promoting a healthy, to***co-free educational environment.
The award ceremony was held at auditorium STNM,Sochagang , Gangtok, where the school was honoured for its efforts in creating awareness about the harmful effects of to***co and ensuring compliance with to***co-control measures within the institution.
This achievement reflects the collective commitment and hard work of our students, teachers and staff members in fostering a safe and healthy learning environment. The school family takes great pride in this accomplishment and remains committed to continuing its efforts towards health promotion and to***co-free education.

World Environment Day was observed in the PM SHRI GGSSS Gyalshing school with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and teachers. A number of activities were organized to promote environmental awareness and encourage responsible environmental practices. These activities included weeding, manuring, plantation of fruit trees and flowering plants, and a cleanliness drive in and around the school premises.
A special awareness programme was conducted by the students of Class IX B during the morning assembly. The programme had informative speeches, an engaging quiz, and a meaningful dance performance highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The day's activities not only helped beautify the school campus but also relayed the message that every individual has a role to play in protecting the environment for future generations.

The election for the Vice Prefects for the current academic session was conducted today with great enthusiasm. To familiarize students with the democratic voting process, they were given the opportunity to cast their votes for their preferred candidates. Elections were held for a total of 17 disciplines, ensuring active student participation and leadership development.
The elected Vice Prefects will work in coordination with the Chief Prefects and assist them in carrying out their responsibilities throughout the session.
We are pleased to announce that Ms. Nusenma Rai of Class XI Science has been elected as the Vice Chief Prefect of the school.

Bagless Day was observed today for the elementary-level students with a special focus on environmental awareness and sustainability. The activities were planned around the theme "Keeping Our Environment Clean and Green" to instill a sense of responsibility and care for Mother Earth among young learners.
The students enthusiastically participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including:
• Cleanliness drive in the school premises
• Weeding and maintenance of the school garden
• Plantation of flowering plants in pots
• Painting competition organized in observance of World Environment Day
Through these activities, students learned the importance of cleanliness, gardening, environmental conservation, and community participation. The programme provided an excellent opportunity for experiential learning while encouraging students to contribute positively towards a cleaner and greener environment.
The day concluded with the distribution of refreshments to all the participants. Overall, the programme was both enjoyable and educational, helping students develop environmental consciousness and practical life skills.

On the occasion of World No To***co Day, our students organized an awareness campaign in Geyzing Bazar to educate the public about the harmful effects of to***co consumption and smoking. As part of the campaign, they performed a powerful Nukkad Natak that effectively conveyed the health, social, and economic consequences of to***co use. The performance attracted the attention of many local residents and delivered a strong message encouraging people to adopt a to***co-free lifestyle.
To further spread awareness, the students also prepared and displayed beautiful and informative posters highlighting the dangers of to***co and the importance of making healthy choices.
