A farewell program was organized in honour of the transferred teacher, Mr. GB Chettri, Mr. Mukum Hang Limboo, Mr. Sajan Rai and Ms. Mandira Pradhan on 08/05/2026.
The programme was graced by Madam Yangden Bhutia and SMC Chairman Lozang Chopel Bhutia as well.
The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by the School In-charge Mr. Ayup Rai, who highlighted the teacher’s sincerity, commitment, and positive impact on the academic and co-curricular development of the students.
A cultural programme was also presented by the students, including songs, speeches, and dances, which made the occasion memorable and emotional. Tokens of love and mementoes were presented to the transferred teacher as a mark of respect and gratitude.
In his farewell speech, Mr. GB Chettri and Mr. Mukum Hang Limboo thanked the school family, students, and community members for their support, cooperation, and affection during his tenure in the school. He expressed heartfelt memories and encouraged the students to work hard and maintain discipline.
The programme was conducted by Ms. Arika Khanal and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Soma Rai who thanked everyone for their presence and cooperation in making the farewell programme successful. The event ended with lunch and warm wishes for the teacher’s future success and happiness.

His sister, Ms. Chomu Tshering Lepcha had come to school to distribute the umbrellas to the students on his behalf.
Your thoughtful contribution will greatly help our children, especially during the rainy season, by ensuring their comfort, safety, and regular attendance at school. We deeply mourn the passing of one of the most dedicated and talented teacher of our feeder school, Mr. Dawa Lepcha, GT (Lepcha) of Tathang JHS. His contribution towards the school and society will always be remembered.
Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family during this tough time.

GSS MELLI ACHING observed "Earth Day" under the theme "Our Power, Our Planet" with great zeal involving students, teachers and non-teaching staff under the guidance of Eco Club Nodal teacher Mr. Jigmee Namgyal Bhutia with full dedication. The main motive behind the celebration of Earth Day was to spread environmental awareness and to inspire young minds to take proactive steps in protecting our environment and our planet.
The day started with a special morning assembly where students presented speech highlighting the importance of bio diversity and sustainable living, urging everyone to adapt eco-friendly habits. The main highlight of the morning assembly was a pledge led by the student council to stop wasting food, reduce the use of single use plastic and conserve water.
The Earth Day celebration was concluded by speech on awareness/precautions on use of natural resources and the significance of Earth Day by the Eco Club Nodal teacher.
