Govt. Junior High School, Tathang observed Independence Day today, 15th August 2026, in the presence of the Honourable Panchayat Member, Smt. Aita Maya Limboo, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Honourable Panchayat Member, Smt. Aita Maya Limboo. Following the flag hoisting, all those present joined together in singing the National Anthem, expressing their respect and love for the nation.
Thereafter, Mr. Bivek Rai, G.T.S., delivered a brief speech highlighting the importance of Independence Day. He spoke about India's struggle for freedom, the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters, and the responsibilities of citizens in contributing towards the development of a better and stronger nation.
The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets among all the students as part of the Independence Day celebration.
The programme was successfully concluded in a simple and meaningful way.

Shri Tashi Wangdi Bhutia, Deputy Director of Education, Yuksom BAC, along with Madam Buddha Kumari Rai, ICDS Supervisor, and Mrs. Sunita Gurung, Anganwadi Worker, visited Government Tathang Junior High School in connection with the co-location of the Anganwadi Centre with the school, as per O.O. No. 394/Edn./GS dated 12/08/2026.

During the visit, the school family allocated two rooms for the Anganwadi Centre, including the first room near the entrance gate, for the smooth functioning of the centre.

However, some necessary arrangements and basic requirements need to be completed before the centre can be made fully functional. The Deputy Director, Education, Shri Tashi Wangdi Bhutia, directed the undersigned to initiate the necessary arrangements and ensure that the allotted rooms are made ready and handed over at the earliest.

The school family is committed to extending full cooperation and support for the successful co-location and smooth functioning of the Anganwadi Centre within the school premises.

Today, the students of Govt. Tathang Junior High School were invited by 72 Bn SSB, Yuksam, to participate in the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga at the SSB Camp, Tathang.

The students enthusiastically participated in various activities, including painting and drawing competitions and essay writing. The programme provided an opportunity for students to express their creativity and develop a sense of patriotism and national pride.

The school extends its sincere gratitude to 72 Bn SSB, Yuksam, for inviting and encouraging our students to be a part of this meaningful celebration.
