Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri successfully conducted a 25-hours In-House Training Programme from 6th to 8th July under the able guidance of our respected Principal and Course Director, Mrs. Nijusree Sarma.

The three-day programme focused on equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills required to meet the evolving needs of education in alignment with NEP 2020. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including Introduction and Importance of the Training Programme in the Light of NEP 2020, Scheme of Studies, Health and Wellness, Value Education, Indian Knowledge System, Joyful Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Computational Thinking, and Procedure and Benefits of Transcendental Meditation, along with other contemporary educational practices.

We were privileged to have Mr. Sanjeeb Kumar Sarma, Principal, Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Panikhaiti, and Mr. Kushal Kalita, Principal, Jnan Vikash Academy, Mangaldai, as distinguished resource persons. Several sessions were also conducted by the experienced faculty members of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri, who shared their expertise and best practices.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers of MVM Silpukhuri, MVM Birkuchi and MVM Panikhaiti, making it a collaborative platform for professional learning and growth.

📖National Reading Month @ MVM Silpukhuri 📖

National Reading Month was celebrated with great enthusiasm and spirit at Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Silpukhuri, Guwahati.The programme commenced with the observance of National Reading Day on 19 June 2026, when all students took the Reading Pledge, marking the formal inauguration of the month-long celebration.
In accordance with CBSE Circular Academic 43/2026, the school organized a wide range of engaging and educational activities throughout the Reading Month. These included storytelling sessions, oral reading and interpretation exercises to enhance reading comprehension, poem recitation in all three languages (Assamese , Hindi and English), an art-integrated poster-making competition among students of Class XI on the theme National Reading Day, Sanskrit shloka chanting activity , vocabulary contests , a quiz competition on P. N. Panicker, and a debate competition conducted by Ankita Sarma (CCA debate expert) on the topic, "Reading Physical Books is Better than Reading on Screens for School Children."
Adding a meaningful social dimension to the celebration, the students of Class IX presented a street play on the theme "Say No to Drugs", creating awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were awarded to the winners of the various competitions. The month-long celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and successfully fostered a culture of reading, creativity, critical thinking, and social awareness, making the event truly student-centred and memorable.

🧘‍♀️ International Yoga Day Celebration at MVM Silpukhuri 🧘‍♂️

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June ,2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and teachers.

Our respected Principal, Mrs. Nijusree Sarma, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Yoga in maintaining a healthy body, peaceful mind, and balanced lifestyle. Yoga Teacher Ms. Nabalakhi Gogoi spoke about the numerous benefits of Yoga and emphasized the importance of incorporating it into our daily routine.

Students and teachers enthusiastically participated in various yoga asanas, while students also showcased impressive yoga performances under the able guidance of our Yoga Teacher.

The celebration served as a reminder that Yoga is not just an exercise, but a way of life that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

✨Investiture Ceremony 2026 | MVM Silpukhuri✨

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri, proudly conducted its Investiture Ceremony on 22nd June 2026, marking the formation of the core student leadership teams of the four houses—Nameri, Kaziranga, Manas, and Orang.

The ceremony was graced by our respected Principal, Mrs. Nijusree Sarma, House In-charge Mrs. Mala Sarma, and the House Masters: Mrs. Sudipta Deb (Nameri), Mrs. Pooja Talukdar (Kaziranga), Dr. Rumi Chaharia (Manas), and Mrs. Chandra Sharma (Orang), along with teachers and enthusiastic students dressed in their respective house colours.

The event commenced with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, followed by a vibrant traditional dance performance that set a festive tone for the occasion. Addressing the gathering , our Principal congratulated the newly selected student leaders and encouraged them to uphold their responsibilities with sincerity, integrity, and dedication. She then formally conferred the various leadership titles upon the selected students of each house.

The ceremony concluded with the Oath-Taking Ceremony and house-wise group photographs, celebrating the spirit of leadership, teamwork, and commitment.

🌼Rabha Divas Observed at MVM Silpukhuri 🌼

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri, observed Rabha Divas with reverence and enthusiasm. The programme was presented by the students of Class IX, Kaziranga House, in remembrance of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, one of Assam’s greatest cultural icons.

The students paid tribute through an informative speech on the life and contributions of Kalaguru, a soulful recitation, a melodious Rabha Sangeet, and a graceful dance performance. A quiz based on the life and legacy of Bishnu Prasad Rabha was also conducted, engaging the audience and enriching their knowledge about the legendary artist and social reformer.

Adding to the celebration, the students creatively decorated the display board with various artistic and cultural elements, highlighting the remarkable life, achievements, and enduring legacy of Kalaguru.

The programme served as a meaningful tribute to a visionary whose contributions to art, literature, music, culture, and society continue to inspire generations.

🇮🇳 NCC Girls Cadets of MVM Silpukhuri attended a firing practice drill at the Amsing Jorabat Firing Range on 3rd June. The session provided practical exposure and strengthened their skills, confidence, and spirit of discipline. 🔰
