The students of the Animation and Visual Effects Department from the Royal School of Communication and Media (RSCOM), The Assam Roval Global University attended a one-day event "IGNITE" at Gauhati University organized by the Assam AVGC-XR Development Association (AADA) on 15th May 2026. The event focused on the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) industry.
The programme featured insightful sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, enabling students to gain valuable industry knowledge from experts and explore the fields of animation, gaming, design, and emerging technologies through interactive discussions and expert guidance.

A creative talk on “Mass Communication in an AI-Driven Post-Truth Society”, was organized on the 6th of April, 2026, by the Royal School of Communication and Media in collaboration with the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Creativity, The Assam Royal Global University. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Amarjyoti Choudhury, Chair, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Creativity, whose insights brought lenses closer and clearer to the subject. The talk was held as a part of a distinguished lecture series ‘Creative Talks’. Prof. P. J. Baruah, Dean, RSCOM gave the welcome address while sharing some of his life experiences.
A significant portion of the talk was dedicated to explaining the concept of a “post-truth” society—where emotional appeal often outweighs factual accuracy— and its prevalence in contemporary media. He particularly noted the growing preference of the masses towards ‘comfortable lies’ rather than facts.
The lecture concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where Professor Choudhury, addressed queries from students. Ms. Sharmista Pradhan, Coordinator, RSCOM, delivered the Vote of Thanks. The creative talk was enlightening and impactful which significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of mass communication in the age of artificial intelligence.

The students of the Royal School of Communication and Media (RSCOM), The Assam Royal Global University, attended a talk show recording on the present election scenario at DY365 Studio, Gorchuk, on 3rd April 2026. The session was designed as an engaging platform for discussion and dialogue.
The session was anchored by Kumud Das, who ensured a balanced and insightful discussion. Students from various institutions actively participated, sharing their views on elections, governance, and the role of youth in democracy. Key issues such as development, education, rights, and women’s safety were highlighted during the interaction.
The talk show provided a valuable practical learning experience for media students, helping them understand the dynamics of political journalism and responsible reporting.
