Celebrating 80 Years of Freedom | Don Bosco Institute

With hearts filled with pride and gratitude, Don Bosco Institute celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. 🇮🇳✨

The celebration was honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest, Shri Viku L. Achumi, IPS, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Guwahati, Assam, whose presence and inspiring words added special significance to the occasion.

We were also privileged to have Fr. VM Thomas, Founder Director; Fr. Cletus, Executive Director; Fr. John Rabha, Associate Director; Sr. Athisa, Head of the Youth Department; and Fr. Joey amidst the celebration.

The day was a beautiful reminder of the sacrifices that shaped our nation and the responsibility we share in building a stronger, more inclusive and progressive India.

From the colours of our tricolour to the voices of our young people, the celebration reflected the spirit of unity, hope and service that continues to define our journey as a nation.

Our AI & Data Science students have been granted a Patent by the Government of India’s Patent Office for their innovative AI-Powered Wearable Device for Women’s Safety — a solution designed to make a real difference.

This groundbreaking innovation integrates AI-powered threat detection, real-time location sharing, instant SOS alerts, and smart app connectivity to enhance safety and emergency response for women.

This achievement was made possible under the guidance of
Mr. Bhaskar Tiwari (Faculty – AI & Data Science) and
Mr. Alakesh Choudhury (Faculty & HOD – IT Department), whose mentorship played a key role in shaping this innovation.

Congratulations to our talented innovators — Archita, Mayank, Harsh, Paul, and Bishwajit — for turning an idea into a patented reality. 👏

The Art & Craft Exhibition by our Primary Teachers' Training (PTT) graduating students was a vibrant showcase of creativity, innovation, and practical learning. Organized as part of the 3-Month Primary Teachers' Training Programme at Don Bosco Institute, the exhibition featured handmade teaching aids, creative classroom resources, and engaging educational models designed to make learning joyful and meaningful for young learners.

We were privileged to have Fr. Cletus Sebastian, Executive Director, as the Guest, whose inspiring presence and encouraging words motivated our future educators to continue teaching with creativity, compassion, and excellence.

Don Bosco Institute was honoured to welcome Mr. Shaji KV, Vice President & Head of CSR, Federal Skill Academy, to our campus.

Our collaboration with Federal Skill Academy has been instrumental in making quality skill training accessible to deserving young people, empowering them with the knowledge and opportunities needed to build successful careers. Through this valued partnership, 1, 050 students have been successfully placed across diverse industries throughout India.

The welcoming programme was graced by Rev. Fr. V. M. Thomas, Founder Director, Fr. John Rabha, Associate Director, and Sr. Emilia Chopfohra, Head of the Education Department, along with the faculty, staff, and students of Don Bosco Institute.
